Man I would kill to know him. This man is the reason I ever got into martial arts. He truly is an inspiration. To step away from fame because you decided to stand your ground, then leave all that behind end eventually go into being a REAL hero as a firefighter and combat medic. That is a reflection of a true good person. Anybody else might have gotten himself lost into drugs and excesses.

Andrew getting to know their true selves has totally changed my opinion of who I like more, tommy or Jason. As a kid I always loved Jason at first but when tommy came along I kinda bought into the way the show forced him on us as the new leader or new coolest guy. But as I rewatch the show and watch a lot of Jason and Austin’s videos as adults, it’s so clear to me which one I truly like the most: Austin St. John. I should have known this year ago when he was so nice to me and my mom when he came to a mall near us in 1995. JDF seems to be an egomaniac. Austin seems to be a good man who is true to himself and keeps things in perspective. JDF only loves fans who love HiM and feed his ego. He will even back out of attending a CON if a certain other ranger says they are going to make an appearcenz. So disgusting. He can’t handle Austin cuz some fans actually like Austin more than jason. He’s so self obsessed. He does anything he can to support fans of HIM, but he doesn’t always support fans of PR in general. It’s gross. His videos are so horrible

His voice acting was top notch. When you listen to PR and watch the old episodes, his voice inflection(The way he spoke and tone) was superior. He used a deeper voice and took charge as the leader. As an adult now, I am still amazed at his voice acting looking back at PR 20 years ago.

Pretty cool Q&A with ASJ. He comes across as fairly grounded and likable here. He seems to have matured with age. Glad to hear that Trini was his favorite Ranger ( Thuy was adorable ) and getting to learn a bit more about her. It's so sad that she is no longer with us, because I think Austin is right, she would have really enjoyed meeting fans at the cons. There is a video on KZbin of her signing and taking pictures in Houston during her time with the show and she was so naturally sweet and charming in the video. ASJ seems genuinely happy to be at the cons as well. I seen him at a con in Huntsville, AL, but didn't go talk with him. His prices were a bit high ( $50 for an autograph and $50 for photo op). I don't know who set the prices for that , but it is awfully high for someone that basically has only acted in a kids show for about a year and a half. To each their own .

This guy was my first hero. I was maybe 3 or 4 when I first started watching. You never forget the things that formed you. Jason, the red ranger, and Power Rangers is a part of me and it's something I could never remove from myself. It's that formative to me. I really respect this talk ASJ gave. I also truly respect his decision to leave the scene for the lack of value they gave to him and his character. I believe he should have gotten a bit more for their hard physical work, and long days. The originals paved the way for the western worlds’ PowerRangers. Thanks for the talk ASJ

It was so nice to hear ASJ talk about the good times he had with Thuy. I’ll be honest here, EVERY TIME I see a con panel video with the PR actors of the 90’s, it feels like Thuy should be there with them reflecting & meeting fans, but she’s not. It really goes to show how cruel and sudden her death was in 2001 and not too many people knew about it because of the devastating event that happened immediately after. (sighs) Thuy may be gone, but at the very least, whenever the OG cast talks about her, something inside my heart (and I’m sure the hearts of others too) just warms up, as if she’s listening to and smiling about their conversations.... .... RIP Thuy Trang (May your legacy continue to inspire many more PR fans and other Asian actors)

I think I heard somewhere JDF was among the "Original 6" but was so extremely skilled, they wanted him to give him his own tv show, so he was the lead in VR Troopers. That never took flight with his involvement and they brought him onboard as the Green Ranger.

Actually that was after being green. To be the white ranger they contract another guy, and offer JDF his own show called Cybertron (the pilot is around). But THE KIDS were sending letters and fathers calling to the production asking where the green character was, cause the kids were so upset without teh green... (the evil green+rangera and then 6 rangers was a very powerful lead story), so the production tought about offer the new actor his own show (cybertron) and offer JDF a comeback as another ranger (the new white). The other guy accept cause, despite of starting on the PR show what was a stablished and succesful show for the las 1 or 2 years, the offer about doing a whole entire show for his own was a great deal and a good challenge (I heard this from an interview with this actor Brad I don't rememb the surname). JDF accept cause he was always exited about the evil green and the green and the PR show (remember the documentary, when he's joking all the time saying green... green... green... remember he arriving early just to trying to grab the best kick on the episode or the funny line... many times belonged to ASJ!!) so he basicaly was a fan of his own character and the show, so the deal was fine for him cause the plan was to come back as the white ranger, a new misterious ranger with a lot of power that was there to lead or co-lead the team. They were filming in different buildings but in the same location, so they both actors said that was actually walk 20 mts from one building to the next one and shaking hands in the middle saying, hey man good luck! Then, production saw that Cybertron show was a bit manky so they decide to add 2 more actors and changed the name to VR TROOPERS.

Lexington is only an hour away but I couldn't. My wife and kids were excited when they told me ASJ was coming but taking care of my mother-in-law is a 24/7 job when no other family wants to help. I guess that's my super power...taking care of others instead of myself. It's awesome that some of my KY friends got to go and now I have '93 Karate Action figure still in the box.
