90% today. Off to the east coast for a week. Be wet, cold and windy but at least I won’t be working. All the best to Clara and Charlotte. Being in hospital is the worst but often it’s the best place to be.

It's amazing to see that combine working like that in those conditions. I combined high-moisture corn in the USA, and they put it in silage clamps for feed. A much better solution, I think, once the maize has gone off that much; there is not much feed value in dead stalks! With the right hybrids, I think you may have just started a new opportunity for your contracting business, because on tracks, you are making way less mess than a chopper and trailers and the feed content value would be higher, I suspect for the farmer.

I don’t think anyone ever doubted the header would cut it but among the many reasons they have specific corn heads is because they want to take as little through the combine as possible ie. just the cobs

Hope Clara can come home soon but as you say she is in the right place. The NHS is amazing. Had regular trips to hospital.over last couple of weeks as Mum fractured her femur. Such a worry when complications set in. Hoping she has turned a corner so I am 85% too today. Thank goodness for our medical staff from all over the world ❤
