@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 we've got a bit of a drought going on here and I can tell you it won't pay the bills. Always less and less crop and more sheep nowadays. You won't outrun poor economic crop returns buy spending more money but I've got some neighbours trying.

I thought even if you guys were wet, you would still be at what we would consider a drought level. I'd hate to see what your drought would look like The wife and I need to ramp up our marketing of the beef and increase food grade bean acres. Who knows, in the future I might not have much row crop?

Great job promoting the message "we gotta keep out of debt/stop playing that game". All your work strip tilling and pulling back the amount of inputs needed is the same direction too. Farming needs to be out from under the Banks.

Haha. Well i get laughed at for some of the things I do to avoid debt and be as self-sufficient as possible. Wonder what the neighbors will think next year when they see the AC 66 All Crop combine cutting oats and rye next year. Nobody wants to mess around doing any custom work for me due to the smsll acreage and those crops are not common in my area anymore.

Shoot, could you put a grease zerk on those splines going to the final drives from the transmission? Even though not much sliding action, but the constant vibration and torque load/unload... new holland has greasable splines on their machines. Really all splines and shafts should be greasable. Nervewrecking to me 😅 Hope it all works out and no big surprises. Crazy how heavy those tracks and axle are... but in hindsight they gotta carry a lotta weight around! Not sure how big your grain tank is, but adding in weight of the header too probably gets over 40,000 lbs on the front?
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms37543 ай бұрын
Yeah, funny they didn't have a zero. Would be interesting to see the actual weight on the front axle. If a head is 8k lbs, 8 feet in front of the axle you need 8k behind the axle. Is the axle carrying 16k.
