In all seriousness when I was a child we attended a church on my block that used to have us kneel around the altar and you did not get up until foam was flowing out. We would prepare by placing Argo starch in our pockets to place in our mouths to cut the time we had to kneel and say "Jesus" over and over. I know today that has nothing to do with receiving the Holy Spirit or purging sin.

I had to tarry for months at 12 years old in a room with others tarrying for the holy ghost in a room way upstairs where they sat you in a chair and made you close your eyes and say Jesus real fast over and over again until you spoke in unknown tongues. my Pentecostal upbringing. I did speak in tongue months later real talk in that room with all the saints shouting Jesus at you! Lol! it was crazy but real! Lol! this is memories for me with a laugh today!

Lawd! Reminds me of the pastor's wife at our church when I was little. Always had her slip hanging below her dress hem. No girdle. Coz everything was everywhere. She had bug eyes and wore some ugly tortoise shell spectacles. Had a moustache. And she was gigantic. Looked twelve foot something. Always threatening us kids with hell and slapping oil on our foreheads. I got saved every Sunday for about a year and a half because of how scary she was. Still get chills thinking about her.
