You're right! Hwaa has a double-meaning of fire and flower. So much of the song is barren, cold, and then they switch up to bright red fire and flowery representations of spring. Soyeon did confirm that Hann (Alone), Hann (AIW) and Hwaa are indeed a trilogy. During promotions, she actually suggested listening to those three songs in order. She wrote Hann (Alone) in their rookie year 2018, and then the I Burn album in 2021 lead off with Hann AIW into Hwaa. It's notable for being a K-Pop song without any English lyrics, and just an absolutely elegant song & concept. Hwaa was an incredibly strong comeback for Idle at the time, and was the last comeback for them as a six person group. Until Nxde surpassed it last year, Hwaa had the most music show wins among its title tracks, and I'm of the opinion that they were well on their way to reaching the level they're at now. They went from Lion to Oh My God to Dumdi Dumdi to Hwaa, and the group was becoming more and more popular... and then we lost Soojin. Had it not happened, supposedly Nxde was already written and probably would've been their next title track. It's well-documented that Soojin was a huge Marilyn Monroe fan, so it's not hard to imagine that Idle continues to honor her.

As another note, "Hann" in Korean does indeed mean alone... sad... But it has an even greater connotation of sadness that doesn't quite translate to English.

@@foreverneverland8197 ...'Sad but doesn't quite translate'... What? So, is there another word for sad in Korean that does translate to sad in English? Or are you just pulling everybody's leg? Emotions work the same way throughout humanity so how is there a 'different' kind of sad that doesn't translate? That's weird unless you are talking about 'depression'.

@@jamescurfman3284 I heard the explanation of it on Form of Therapy's Patreon. Tough to explain. But looking it up on Wikipedia: "Han, or haan, is a concept of an emotion, variously described as some form of grief or resentment, among others, that is said to be an essential element of Korean identity by some, and a modern post-colonial identity by others."

You HAVE to be VERY careful with Queendom and MNET, though. Channels have been removed over this stuff. That's why there are hardly any reactions to it on YT, nobody wants claims and nobody wants strikes and eventual bans.

@James Curfman - Actually that information is incorrect. MNET was hacked, and part of the hacking destruction was removing a lot of the Queendom videos, (G)I-DLE's Queendom videos were part of that hacking destruction. That's why the original video was gone. MNET was able to recover the original video, but the video with the other groups reacting to the performance in real time is still missing. (That's why the original performance of "LION" is still missing too). However I can't see anyone who reacted to it that doesn't still have their reaction videos posted even now. Secondly, youtube doesn't remove channels over copyright issues just for one strike. It takes three strikes to remove a channel, and that's only in a 90 day period. If you have two strikes and the first strike is 91 days old, you are only at one strike at that time. But no one is removed for posting one copyrighted video. However, I do see with the LeeMijn Service videos with Minnie and Yuqi, most every reactor blurs the performance, so if she reacts to those, she'll just have to remember to blur (or otherwise cover) the performance, but she can still react to it. Updated correction, I see you said eventual bans, so I get where you're coming from, from that point of view.

@@coolandtrending Quit trying to feed me bullshit. Channels DO get removed. MNET is not the only company to do that to people. There is an evil company that are just as much dickheads in The Netherlands as MNET is for handing out multiple strikes at the same time to get reaction channels taken down. It CAN happen, it DOES happen. I know that because it HAS happened. There are at least three reaction channels that I remember from a few years ago that are simply no longer around. The reactors told fans that they might not be around anymore, depending on what happens in the course of the process of clearing the strikes, before they in fact disappeared. I really wish I could have been able to keep links to specific videos. My memory is shot so I can't even give you names of those reaction channels anymore, I just don't remember. AND there are channels that get taken down for even less reasons than strikes. Check out all the stuff with Jeannie (PotasticP on twitch) and her husband, long-time KZbinr Henry (with channels called MXR Mods and MXR Plays). Read all about that stuff. The problem is, you don't hear about the SMALL channels that simply disappear as if they never existed. But when some idiot at YT decided to mess with Henry, that idiot did not realize that Henry and Jeannie together have quite a following. LOADS of people stuck up for them and the channel was restored, but all those videos would need to be re-worked again (totally not worth it for Henry to have to do because he had been making videos for over ten years). Then, some jerk did it to Henry's channel AGAIN, something like seven or eight months later! ANOTHER fight had to happen for them to come back to KZbin. YT is fucked. Big companies (like MNET) that can throw their weight around by tossing money at the right people are part of the problem. Another part of the problem is those who accept that money and do things that are not ethical.

Loved the reaction, Hwaa is one of my favourite (G) I-DLE songs for real its such a masterpiece. Currently Gidle is doing their own show on their KZbin channel, on the last episode they will drop a comeback announcement, so we will get another album soon. For song recommendations i would suggest Dumdi dumdi, uh oh and Latata. These are also different Vibe so u can see another side of them. Also it would be cool if you do a Guide to (G) I-DLE to get to know the girls personalities, they are so fun. Waiting for more reactions ☺️

Yes, Hwa means fire in Korean but not in the traditional way, it's more of a spiritual, inner determination. Hua also means flower in Cantonese and the song Hwaa plays on the double meaning. Using their Hwa to burn away the winter to make way for the blooming of their spring flower (Hua)

Actually when Minnie is holding the camera to her head in "HANN", it is to show what's in her mind, and she only sees herself, her ex-lover does not exist in her mind anymore. Also, regarding our Minnie, the whistle you hear in "HANN" is Minnie. (Also the whistle in "Dumdi Dumdi" too). Soyeon wrote these three songs as one trilogy. If you can believe it, Cube didn't think "HWAA" was a good enough song to release. The girls had to resubmit "HWAA" the next year and Cube finally accepted it. "HWAA" went on to win ten music awards. Other (G)I-DLE tracks you should be checking out: each and every song they've ever released 😊 Have you seen (G)I-DLE's "HELP ME" music video for the OST "Her Private Life"? The video drifts in between scenes from the "Her Private Life" series and the girls singing "HELP ME" in studio. The petition to bring back Soojin is with another company, since Cube Entertainment said they will never bring her back. There was a moment during the time that Soyeon was fighting with Cube Entertainment over what happened and Soyeon posted a selfie on social media in which she had Psy's businesses card. Which created the rumors that (G)i-Dle was going to break their contract with Cube Entertainment and sign with P-Nation in order to stay together as six members.

In korean Hwaa means fire and in Chinese means flower. They have to members of Chinese decent shuhua -Taiwan yuqi -China. So they have the fire and flower version
