One of the most exciting races of the last 10 years. Paul Nicholls really did a fantastic job with Tidal Bay. It makes you wonder what the horse could have achieved had he been trained by PN throughout his whole career.

Still hard to believe he got up! Such a talented horse. Believe Tidal Bay would have won the Gold Cup if he'd had been fit. Bring on 2013/14 season!

Doesn't look at any stage that Tidal Bay is going to get up for this. What an incredible horse... And what a difference a change of trainer / scenery can make.

Ruby Walsh did a miracle getting the old boy up to win that. Before two out you would have laid him at 500/1 to win. All of these will have to improve to win the Gold Cup. Great upload by Jesse once again

If champion trainer Paul Nicholls does end up champion trainer at the end of the season, that could well be the most significant win. What a thrilling Grade 1 finish. I do not know who will win the Gold Cup at Cheltenham in March. Long Run was not at his best at Kempton despite winning the King George VI Chase.

Amazing race as a spectacle. Not sure this is Gold Cup winning form given conditions and the proximity of so many runners, although it is an open season. Let's hope the Gold Cup lives up to this.

Yes I agree about SDC . He is still good for the Gold Cup. I worry about his jumping though. The Punchestown erro and now these errors in the Lexus. If he stands up he will stay the 3m 2f in March.

SDC is a star in the making but he worrid me with his jumping there, he was also driven a long way from home, he got beat by what 1 length in the end? but it would have been bigger if the 2 in front stayed the trip.. Good race but it was dodgy towards in the end, not sure if u agree ..Gold cup isn't a GIMME so i would say Long run now look much much stronger than this year's Lexus quality.

Bobs worths form with tidal bay has been exaggerated. In the hennessey tidal bay was giving 6lbs to bobs worth over further than the Lexus. On better ground and ridden differently 12-1 for flemenstar is value if he runs in the gold cup.

If the ground comes good at cheltenham I wouldn't write him off yet. I guess we will be more clear tomorrow. He stays just aswell as first lieutenant in my opinion. So value wise I'd rather be on flemenstar than first lieutenant. If like you said sir des champs jumps well he wins for me too.

First Lieutenant is second again. Bobsworth beat both him and Tidal bay in the Hennessy. Will take some beating in the Gold Cup!

Racing off 162 means he does have a massive chance at the National, ran off 154 when routing the Whitbread off top weight, never even whipped, that was at 3,5m.5f.
