@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
@@claudesmoot1880 I believe that's a knock sensor code. These can get tricky, as it could be the harness to them as well. I can't give u a for sure answer as I would scope the electrical signal from them and read what they are doing to know for sure. I do have video showing the replacement of them. There will be many factors like loss of engine power etc.

Did this job couple weeks ago ended up stripping the nut on the ff. Tried to twist it off by hand ended up twisting and snapping the fuel line. Bought a couple coolant hoses and tried to repair it that’s way but it’s not perfect. Tried priming the filter and it won’t up to we’re the cut oem line is. Please help kinda stuck and out of options.

I would never suggest repairing a broken fuel line with hoses. If you do, you must use fuel grade hoses, the metal lines must be flared. I would get a new fuel line off a donor car at the junkyard if anything. That's the route I would go, I would avoid having a fuel leak at all costs.

I changed my filter and now it won't stay running. Didn't cycle the key before cranking though. Any suggestions?

You have air in the system and make you have everything plugged back in like the mass air flow sensor.

Hi Nick how do you bleed the fuel system on the ES300 ?
@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
just remove the fuel cap from the filler neck, to remove any pressure from the fuel tank.
@koshakuguides98632 ай бұрын
Hi, this stupid little filter is causing me a lot of stress! Which way did you torque the flare nut on the fuel line to loosen it? It confuses me because it's upside down. I used a crescent wrench and it rounded the nut a bit, so I stopped and ordered a flare nut wrench but I am not sure if I was turning it the right way.
@nicklldoit2 ай бұрын
Lefty loosely, righty tight. The filter will turn counter clockwise from the top view. Make sure to leave everything loose when installing the new one. The threads need to line up perfectly, it may take you several tries.

What size tool you used to remove the bolt from filter?
@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
FUEL LINE BOLT WAS A 12MM AND THE SMALL BOLT FOR THE BRACKET WAS AN 8MM

Do you have to disconnect the battery or any fuse
@nicklldoit2 жыл бұрын
I would disconnect the battery for extra safety.

Having some hesitation going up hill and when accelerating hard. Is this a good bet of what the issue is ? Great video. Hard to find stuff for these es300s
@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say really, it could help with fuel pressure. Sounds like a weak fuel pump. A dirty Mass air flow sensor could do it as well. No stored codes?
@colin92143 жыл бұрын
@@nicklldoit no codes at all no. Not yet anyways. I'll check MAF sensor.. also my fuel filter looks very different. Doesn't appear to have the snap connection on top.

@@colin9214 it's always good to spray your MAF sensor every air filter change. I use CRC mass air flow sensor cleaner. What year is your ES?

@@colin9214 yeah I've done a 2000 model as well, I'm pretty sure it's the same fuel filter as you see in the video. It should have the plastic release tab.

How important is the little cover that slides over the top connection on the filter? I lost it.
@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
Not important, it's just a dust shield really. It's suppose to be a backup holder of the line. You can use 2 zip ties if needed, if you are worried about it.

@@nicklldoit filter came with 2 copper washers. Are those needed for this?
@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
@@colin9214 if you can't seal it up by tightening the filter down, then 1 copper washer comes into play. Use 1 washer on the bottom of the filter inlet. Might sound tough, but you can use a small amount of grease to help hold the washer up on the filter. That way it won't fall out when you go back and reinstall it.

How important is this at 55k miles?
@nicklldoit Жыл бұрын
It's hard to say, pending how clean the fuel is. I wouldn't go past 100k miles, but it's a must if you are replacing a fuel pump for sure. Just like an air filter, you should replace those every 20k miles. But if you get into a dust storm in Arizona or something similar that air filter will clog up sooner.
