Android 8.1 is really old and will eventually be unsupported. For almost $700 dollars, do you guys plan to update your system to support a more current version of Android?

Yes we plan to release the Android version upgrade.

Do i need internet to run the navigation with this unit?

You can run the navigation with this unit using CarPlay or Android Auto. In such case, you will not need any additional internet. You can also run the navigation directly on the unit. For real-time navigation, you will need to connect the system to the internet, either by using the dedicated mobile data plan and the modem or via smartphone internet tethering. You can also download some offline maps to use while offline.

do you need to unplug the cd changer or can I leave it as is?

The external CD changer is disconnected, and the built-in CD player keeps working.

Yes, you plug to the back of the stereo, with the video and power cables. We recommend leaving the main "brain" unit in the glove box.
