That back one is the most important one to replace because a big problem with the degrading of them over time is water running down inside the body panel and soaking the carpet padding, which can cause rusting, mold, and a musty smell. Because the carpet has a rubber backing, you wouldn’t know it was wet underneath there because the moisture doesn’t wick upwards.

Yeah it’s in good shape still but I’ll replace it eventually. Definitely don’t want water back there

I just did this a few weeks back. It wasn't difficult at all. Just hoping the two rear strips never go bad. They are not fun from what I can tell. Anywho. Nice job on the video.

I would say for all 4 of them about a half hour for me since I’ve done it before. But if you’re doing it for the first time, give yourself an hour/ hour fifteen and really take your time. You don’t want to damage the paint

Yep they’re all good. I’m sure you can find higher quality ones out there but this was a cheap and effective fix that’s been holding up great

@@lexus_offroad_adventures wow! That's good to know as I can't yet bring myself to ordering them after reading all the bad reviews! Makes me wonder if there was a bad batch that went out or are some 470s different?? What year is yours? I have an 06' and a reviewer said he also had an 06' and they weren't compatible.. I'm on a budget and definitely not wanting to have to but the oem ones. Found a set of for for $175 and considering it. Also wondering if anyone has tried the ones that sell for $89 on ebay? Wonder if those are a nice solid alternative to OEM? I'm upgrading my door speakers and worried water may get in and ruin them with the old worn molding. Thoughts?

@@raphaelness1239 I definitely think they’re worth a try. Prado stuff is pretty dang cheap. Mine is an ‘04 but 03-09 shouldn’t be any different. People often complain when things don’t snap into place easily. Sometimes it requires some extra force or other mechanical work they don’t have enough experience to know is needed to get things to fit. Especially an aftermarket part. If you see better reviews on the slightly more expensive eBay one, go for it! I doubt there will be any water intrusion, these parts do not form a perfect seal, they just direct large amounts or water away from the door and scrape the rest into the internal door drain which lets out at the bottom of the door. Shouldn’t affect anything going on on the inside portion of the door like speakers.

I'm attempting this today! I didn't order the exact same ones you linked because I somewhat assumed they are probably all the same so I ordered the ones that were cheapest at the time. Hope it goes as smoothly as your install did as I'm installing new front door speakers also. I'll let you know how all that goes. Did you do any audio upgrades yet? I started out with Infinity reference series for tweeters and went with kicker's for the mid-range speaker in the middle as they didn't make an infinity comparable. I attempted using the two-way 6 by 9 Infinity reference for the lower as crutchfield said they would be a good upgrade however my concern was verified after installing. I was concerned that the Tweeter on the 6 by 9 would be receiving low and frequency that would not be suitable for it causing distortion. That is what happened and I ended up returning those and I'm waiting for actual woofer speakers from a component set of nvx speakers. I installed bass blockers on the tweeters and mid-range speakers and they sound awesome crystal clear. Both sets of speakers came with the blockers to add. Looking forward to hearing the completed set up I'll know on Thursday or Friday and I'll give an update. Thanks for the tips on your videos

I haven’t done an audio upgrade (other than the head unit) as it’s not super high on my priority list but my wife’s GX will be needing a new subwoofer at minimum so I might do an audio upgrade video series
