This second generation is the best design and perfect size... the 3rd generation is too fat...the 4th generation has very low roof... this 2nd generation is perfect, soft, timeless design, easy to drive, stands out in the crowd.

I like the round spherical rear back door more than the 3rd and 4th more sporty models. The later models are too muscular and sporty which makes the cars looks cheap. Lexus should maintain focus on comfort and class rather than the flashy sporty look that most off-road capable SUVs have clung to.

I disagree 100% to all yall comments lol. The lexus 2010 for example is my favorite compared to the older Generations. I haven't driven the newer ones tho. It is better looking, still comfortable, better and more updated technology, and handles better feeling more like a car. Basically an upgrade. Nothing wrong with being sporty. Its the best of both worlds. Similar to an infiniti G37 in that regard.. Sporty and luxurious. I am sure many people would agree with me.

I appreciate your review, mate! But i have to provide feedback at 6:20, you mentioned that the center console is pulled back too much to the back because it will pervent the center passenger to have problems sitting, you can ACTUALLY slide the center console front and back by looking for the lever located around the cup holder area. There will be a latch where you can pull and hold-to-slide the center console front and back. I am planning to own a '08 RX350, therefore i saw a hidden features of the RX350 on youtube. So cheers mate!

Seriously, any Lexus of that era with a 3.5 liter V6 is Bulletproof oh, I would also add the LS430, SC430, and then the Camry and the Lexus ES300. Also definitely on the list for the most reliable is got to be 98 through 2006 Land Cruiser, or LX equivalent

You can adjust the position of the Centre console, just open the cup holder cover in the front seat, there is a latch you can push down on in there to adjust

Varghese Thomas - one great tip that I just found & willing to share. You don’t need to use the touchscreen to put on your A/C or heater. To put on your heater or A/C, tap on the “front” button 2 times. That turns it on and off. In 5 seconds, it’ll blow to max. Then tap on the “temp” button on the driver’s side to reduce the fan speed. That same temp button works as a fan speed selector. There’s so much to this car. Packed with lots of goodies!

1:41 it's crazy to see how Lexus models used to have normal size grills on their models a little over a decade ago & now have the majority of the front end taken up by the grill. Lexus went from understated & elegant to bold, aggressive, & often excessive grill designs. Sometimes you just gotta put the pencil down and have some restraint in the design too have a balance & contrast

Funny enough, I've got an 07/08 with 71K in my sights. Could you please share a bit more about how much did you pay for yours? Have you noticed any rust setting in? Do you still fall under a technical warranty what with it still being under 100,000 miles? I'm also slightly worried about it being 5-speed auto when compared to a 2010 version with 6-speed auto. Do you notice any issue with the engine down-shifting from gear 5 to 4 on highway trips? I'm planning on using it for highway trips as my job involves long highway trips and I've heard that it's a very comfortable drive on highways, hence why I'm considering it. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Yeah, it’d be good to know how much he paid. There’s also a recall on this series (I’ve just discovered from my research).; which relates to its oil cooler line. A lot of the lines were bursting and resulting in oil leaks and engine knocks. If not already changed to metal lines, they need to be done ASAP.

Samuel Pickering - Yes, it has standard Bluetooth connectivity which allows you to answer calls with buttons on the steering wheel. All 2nd generation RX350s all have this. I don’t think you can access Bluetooth music from your phone/device though. You’ll need an external adapter.

What's truly incredible is that for a 2009 car, its interior still looks and functions extremely well which just goes to show how much care they had put into making these RX's. Even the leather seats while rippled in a few areas still look new despite its mileage and the car being 12 years old. Only a few automakers like Subaru on some of their models and perhaps older Volvos can really have that be the case

my dad is very lazy and does maintenance on it every 40,000 miles instead of 10K miles, has used regular Jiffy Lube oil (changed every 5K miles) it has 182000 miles on it now and drives like almost new. Engineering and cars are my hobby and I will say it has amazed me how well it drives after 12 years and how it still looks new. Get them fast before they shoot up in price and notice they are ones on autotrader with 260K miles still running well.

I just bought 2007 rx 350 with a rebuilt motor. It has approximately 125000 miles on it. So far so good. I had to replace my 2005 Honda Accord hybrid. The Honda is a great car, however, the electronic battery that assists the engine to conserve fuel is on it's last leg. So I found this Rx350 and I'm happy with it in week 2.

There is also a retractable cup holder just above the mirror adjustment button/switch and under the air vent. And the center console can slide forward and that handle is located in the dual center cup holder after you open the cover.

This is my favorite generation of Lexus RX, I would buy one any day if only it had Touch button start, very strange they didn't put it in there because they had it in a Lexus LS in 2004, also if you can find one of these with a panoramic roof, called the multi-panel roof their very rare but that would be ideal as well

I've watched about a dozen videos on the 2nd gen RX and I still dont know if its FWD or AWD and how to know which models have which. I've heard it's FWD like a rav 4 but with auto AWD for traction... I've heard there are full time AWD models but nobody mentions ratio and I've seen no badges to signify it... so so confusing 😅

the cup-holders are useless unless you use a coozy or a bigger cup. a regular-size soda bottle will tip right over in any turn, and will slosh back and forth with acceleration and braking.

Number is about size, not just engine, 330 and 350 and 400 are different sizes and were all produced at the same time. The 330 was discontinued in favor of the other small "X" models that came making the 350 the focus of the RX. The center console also moves.

If you are indifferent to the styling updates to the interior and exterior on the 2010 I'd just go with the 2009 since it will probably be cheaper.

Same engine, but guessing a little smoother as in 2007 it was the first year for the 3.5 V6. Toyota tends to refine products very nicely with each subsequent year of a generation...

I think the hybrid option on the RX is one of the most appealing things about it. If you're going straight gas I'd lean toward some of the other alternatives but no other brands match the hybrid RX in this category.
