It will be difficult for her, I am not sure that she can ADJUST. It is hard for a child of the ghetto to make changes to their culture. Instead of focusing on the game. See how she find the camera when she serving? Thats what it is all about. Showcasing!!!...for a few moments. Her LAZINESS will prevent her from going much further.

I feel sorry for Leylah not having any power. She has good ball placement but lobbing the balls almost every shot gives the other player time for a return. Alycia on the other hand, is very inconsistent and could have kept making error after error, but she didn't. With her power, her serve and volley's can be lethal. But even short players as Leylah can serve and volley a bit harder as Trivisan and Paolini do. She needs better coaching and traning. Congrats to Alycia.

I agree with you - Leylah's weakness is her service balls - not so powerful. All other areas of play, they are just almost equal.
@jonfreeman9682
@jonfreeman9682 6 ай бұрын
Leyla is a tiny girl so relies on tactics and accurate ball placement with low unforced errors and mostly a defensive player so let's the other player get tired and make mistakes. She struggles against power players and will get blown off the court.
@Ruby-dk3tw
@Ruby-dk3tw 6 ай бұрын
I agree here, she can't be criticised for her commitment or putting in the miles, she' does what she's asked, bless her. When she first returned from the US open there was an opportunity then to get a coach with a top pedigree like Radacanu had done. Leylah was earning enough then but failed to invest in her future. Coaches will queue up to work with an up and coming star. Emma and Leylah's team both made different mistakes with coaches. People were shaking their heads at their choices but at least Emma had the bucks in the bank and an assured future income from endorsements to sit out these mistakes. Leylah needs more that just her best endeavours and the will to win. Tennis is so competitive now that she needs to have all her weapons in optimum condition.

I've heard Parks since 2022 and this is a long-awaited presence to be honest. She's been so hyped for her serve but inconsistency really fumbled her journey last year. Coco, does not stand a chance against Alycia, right now. She lobs too often, and her lobs are too high, and her drop shots are horrendous. There is just too many flaws in her game still. Parks absolutely and clearly won this match! Leylah didn’t lose it. And this from a LF fan. And can we finally agree that Leylah needs a real coach to help her seriously improve and build on her talent, before that chance slips by? Her father needs to recognize this and step aside. He’s done a lot to get her to this point and now needs to hand over her career to established, experienced coaches. IMHO.

@@kevingilhooley2064 Raducanu has never advanced past the 2nd round at the AO, so at least this is progress. Her results after winning the US Open have been lackluster, at best, not winning another singles title anywhere, plus having a revolving door of coaches and a spate of various injuries. Not sure where she's the "hottest ticket in tennis", but that seems more hype for an average tennis player struggling to make a comeback than anything else. She'll be lucky to make it through the next round.

Shots from Park looking sharper than last year. I have so much hope for her, i think she has the game. Though, i also think her game in modeled too closely to Serena’s (even her temperament and behavior on court) without quite the requisite athleticism. But! She’s young and has so much room to grow.

A number of you have flamed me for complaining about the highlights here. Even though I have subscribed, I am saying that the highlights do not tell why a close match was won or lost. Have any of you seen some YT posters who show EVERY point in a match? A 3-hour match can be reduced to 15 minutes if you just show the points from the start of a good serve to the winning point. Instead, these AusOpen highlights show slo-mo replays (which we can already do with YT), shots of players walking to their seats, random points, and extraneous footage that does nothing to explain why Alycia (or any other player) has won an upset. My point is this: If you only have 3 minutes to summarize a match, then show the successful break points (yes, even if a double fault) and show the entire tie break (if any). If you YTUbers have a constructive response, please post, but stop with the flaming (e.g., "shut up'). I am trying to improve the viewing of the most compelling matches.

When you make a very public complaint over seemingly trivial issues, you're going to take some heat...deal with it or stop posting such comments. And instead of criticizing, you're more than welcome to take the time and utilize the resources needed to create content that meets your criteria...the obvious question is, "what's stopping you?"

@ynotneb

Why is this a trivial issue? There is no other YT channel showing highlights since AusOpen has blocked them out. If I tried to do my own, there would be copyright issues. Besides, I'm not criticizing -- I'm making a constructive suggestion to AusOpen TV on how to improve their 3-minute highlights segments so that viewers understand how a close match was won or lost. For example, if they showed just the match point, would you feel satisfied?:

Serena was Serena because of her consistency otherwise we get new Serenas every 4 months these days who usually have a stint then disapear . This girl all she has is her ,serve there is a lot more that she can do with her game .She is taller than Serena meaning her serve can still get better but one trick that Serena used to have was her toss that made very hard to read.

Please stop saying someone's the new or next Serena Williams. The same was said of Sloane Stephens & Naomi Osaka, and as of late, Coco Gauff. Thankfully, there is only one Serena Wms. When God made her, He broke the mold, just like with the rest of us. When it comes to tennis, Serena's incomparable & unparalleled still to this day, and there will NEVER, EVER be another to even come close to her. Congrats, Alycia Parks!

I hope this NEXT TENNIS PHENOM (Ms Parks) will make me proud again. As the WILLIAMS SISTERS DID. BUT you!! ARE trying to make it, sound like been of the ghetto should be an embarrassing thing. Well it is NOT. It is somewhat similar to how some AMERICAN blacks DO NOT want to be associated with the with the ppl from the continent that is across the ATLANTIC. Well, I am proud to say I am of the ghetto, and I am ecstatic to be connected to the ppl from across the Atlantic. "Strong true, my eyes ain't blue". That's whom I am.
