@@Memory_Lanes_of_Pakistan I think Alif Noon had three seasons in 1965/66 (live), 1972/73 (BW, recorded), and 1982/83(color, recorded). You can see classical dancer/actress Nahid Siddiqui (elder sister of Arifa Siddiqui at 4:44 in this episode. Nahid Siddiqui was born in 1956. Nahid must be 9 years old in 1965 but she looks much older here. Nanna is talking about pakistani film Tum Milay Pyar Mila at 7:12 which was released in 1969. The nationalisation programme began on 2 January 1972 by Z. A. Bhutto. So this episode must be from 1972/1973 (2nd season).

I think this dates back to the late 60s. All the actors had matured significantly when Alif Noon was re-televised in the early 70s. The appearance of Athar Shah Khan comes as a surprise. He was very different in Mr. Jaidi aired in 1975/76. Thanks for the upload. Very rare episode, indeed.

Cold war era is the topic of this episode...Nana used "Tea Party" may be writer told us about the famous Biston Tea Party of 1770s, which was against the texation and interference of colonial administration or East India Company....That was the cold war era and Pakistan was one of the battlefield of that war....Seato, Cento, US aid, Capitalist block headed by USA Vs Communist block run by USSR....Nationalisation policy of Socialist block Vs Liberlaization Policy ....That was the atmosphere which was cashed by ZA Bhutto and distracted Pakistan's way forward journey.....politics among the Proletariats and bourgeoisies....for common masses that was just a commedy but that caries satire, Irony and mist of that era.... That was the hyper active era of left ... Sajjad Zahir, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Major Ishaq, Hassan Nasir, Habib Jalib.... And so on, were the stalwarts of that war....but we have lost in the hands of Nasim Hijazi Mentality....which is enchroaching our rational conscious day by day....

As I my memory tells me that perhaps I used to watch this drama serial during 1969 to 1971 when I was only 7 or 8 years old kid. In 1972 we shifted to Multan so I have no idea of 1972 as there was no tv station there at that time. But must praise the person who uploaded this classic drama serial as this bring back some beautiful memories of my childood.

Yes you are right.. nationalization was a very bad decision. But the puzzle to solve is that Alif Noon were first released in 1965 and finished in Feb 1966 with 54 episodes. The second season was released in 1982 and continued for some time. This episode is from season 1. Needs more deliberation.

Alif Noon was first released in 1965 (in black & white) with probably 54 episodes. This was season 1. The season 2 was later released in 1982 in colored. This specific episode is from season 1. We have another colored episode of 1982 season also uploaded. There is so much difference in ages of actors in these seasons. Thanks for commenting

This is not from 1965 -- it is from the Bhutto era. This content would have been impermissible in the Ayub era. Besides, the first television station in Pakistan went on air in 1964.
