Kings have been looking good lately. Give J. Quick his props, he totally stole the game. He looked like J. Quick in his prime. (2010 - 2015) before his first major groin injury. This is the longest he has played injury free since 2014. He is finally getting back into form and game conditioning. J. Quick is one of the very few goalies that can touch the ice with his balls and butt hole as the same time and pop up without using his hands... it’s painfully amazing to watch lol.

That was the Kings FIRST shootout win this year. I completely agree with your SO take. It was exiting when it was new but it such a major drag following 3 on 3 that it is irrelevant now. Just extend the OT til someone wins. You have a WHOLE BENCH full of players but every team uses only 6 guys in ot. Extend it and get more players involved.

I get that shootouts are generally 50/50 but for Steve to constantly say that it’s not hockey is completely and totally wrong. Sometimes teams have an even matchup and they need a decisive way to end a game. It still is hockey though, even if it is essentially just breakaway after breakaway. It makes sense in my opinion, especially in a game like this. Why shouldn’t we have a battle between goalies to see who can hold up. It really boggles my mind how he can constantly complain about this... still love your videos tho Steve, keep up the great work

So fun fact, limited OT was originally put in place decades ago so teams wouldn't miss their trains to go to the next game. Then it became a sticking point and players don't want to play unlimited OT in the regular season. The shootout was made by the league to avoid ties. Personally I think 10 minute 3 on 3 would solve a lot of the problems but 🤷‍♂️

I agree. Also only timeouts which you still have left over from Regulation, minimum required TV timeouts, no intermissions. Someone either scores a goal they worked for, or one team basically concedes and lets them score.

Amen on the shootout. I went to the Spitfires vs Attack game last night. My Spitties lost with 1.8 seconds left in OT .... Good! I didn't want to see a damn shootout after a great game. Owen Sound's goalie is a local kid and had a good amount of boosters in the stands. He put on a show. I think the shots were 37 Spits - 25 OS. We were all entertained aplenty. It was a quick game too. 7:05 til 9:25 with OT. That game could have had a 10 min OT that went to the wire and it would have been about the same amount of time as having a stupid ass shootout with the TV timeout and the stalling between shooters. Total destruction of great pace and action by the TEAMS to watch a pure game be ruined by a skills competition. Glad It ended During The Game.
