One big reason I think he won is because he evolved as a candidate. He wasn't the same guy as in 2016 when he was vicious. The 2016 Trump was talking about punching people, jailing Hillary, attacking Jeb! for the WTC coming down under his brother's watch. He was incinderary, which was part of his appeal. Politicians didn't talk like him. He more or less acted the same way in 2020. This Trump in 2024 was fun and funny. He was dancing. He worked at McDonalds. He rolled up in a garbage truck and wore a reflective vest. Meanwhile the media was trying to say he was Mustache Man or worse. Trump evolved. He wasn't acting anything like that guy from 16 and 20. But the media/Dems used the same playbook, the same tactics. Call him mustache man. Say he's racist. Meanwhile he was expanding his appeal among union workers, blacks, Hispanics, Muslims. So the narrative simply didn't work. The worst "ah ha! See!" moment they could drown up was a poor joke by a comedian about Puerto Rico. They tried to spin it as if Trump himself said something extremely racist about Puero Ricans. That was all they had against him. A poor joke by a comedian. Yet they continued to try to make him into an even worse person than mustache man. And people didn't buy it.
