With the JBC unit we are using we set the air flow at 40% and heat at 430 celsius. But every unit and environment is different so set it accordingly. Try not to overheat the board because then you can cause other problems. Be very careful and perform this repair at your own risk. Good Luck

I don't recommend it. The problem with the LG G4 is that it is not designed to handle the heat that the original processor puts out. By putting this processor you are going to produce more heat. Even if it works, it will not last. But it sounds like a fun experiment. Keep us updated if you decide to do it. We would love to know the results. Take care and good luck.

I must admit this is a big mystery to me. I can see how you can remove the chip, I can see how you can clean up the contacts, I can even see how you can line up and install a new chip, but how do you get it to stick if you don't use any solder? More to the point even if the contacts on the new Chip have some solder on its contacts how do you get it hot enough to stick to the old contacts on the board without damaging components on the board or the chip itself? also since the new chip can be installed on the board in four different positions how does one know which position is correct I did not see any alignment marks nor even a chip out of one corner to indicate proper position of the new chip. All in all I am very impressed that this can be done.

My G4 died the night before an international business trip. I was using the flashlight in a low light area when the screen glitched really weird. I pulled the battery and thought it would come up, but I was wrong. So I froze it and got it to come to life for short periods of time while I tried to grab photos and such. After a while, it didn't work at all. And that's where I am at this point, half a world away and using a older backup phone.

If using a power supply you try to power on the phone and it shows numbers below 10 then most likely it is your power ic or you may even get zero which is very likely that it is the power ic. But if you get past that then most likely something else. There is really no perfect way to determine it, it's more case by case and once you do so many you get a good feel for which one you may want to do first. If you are getting the Qualcomm in the device manager then power is getting to the phone. The issue has to be something else. It sounds like the emmc chip might have a problem! See if you can get it into download mode and flash it. That might bring it back.

This is a permanent fix for the Power IC but this is not a fix for the Boot Loop issue. Once you get it working though, definitely put a heat sink on it. We are going to be uploading a series of videos for the LG G4 including how best to put a heat sync on it and also how to fix the processor which is the one that burns out after bootlooping for a long period of time. I recommend that you subscribe to our channel so you can be notified when the videos are uploaded. Then you can decide if it's something you wish to try. Good luck.

Re flowing is a temporary fix. Usually a couple of days to a week tops, unless you are super super lucky. I would not recommend re-flowing if you are trying to continue using the phone long term. On the other hand, if you just want to get data out of the phone then this is a viable solution.

Replace the processor and make sure you add sufficient heat sync. In the future if you feel the phone is getting too hot, stop playing with it and let it cool down.

Hello there! My g4 h815p suffers from bootloop issue for a few seconds and the goes off, i cant turn it on unless the motherboard gets hot (hair dryer, heat gun..etc), does replacing the ic chip helps with the bootloop? nice video by the way!

The bootloop issue is actually caused by the processor getting too hot. The design was flawed and LG didn't take into account the customers that were going to push the processor to perform. Also as the phone's software was updated, it kept demanding more processing speed and because the phone wasn't designed to cool well the processor gets damaged. We are aware that if you heat the processor ic chip a little it will let you past the LG logo but before too long it will start to loop again. We have actually come up with a fix for this and are in the process of putting some videos together. Go ahead and subscribe to this channel and you will be notified once the video is uploaded. There will actually be 2 videos for the LG G4 model. One will show you a simple way to install a heat sink that will cool the processor better and the other is a full video of how to replace the Processor IC Chip. Hope this helps answer some of your questions. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the reply, I respect you opinion and I'm pretty sure you are a professional in this area, but I'm not sure if high temperatures are the cause of my bootloop-nopower issue. After "resurrect" my phone with a little of heat I try to keep the temperature as low as possible (disabling the two big.little cores, restricting apps in background and checking temp with CPUZ), but after 24h or less it tends to bootloop whether it's on usage or not. So I think all the issues related with bootloop-nopower are because the MoBos between the S/N 505 to 602 are really susceptible to get a short circuit (power ic, wifi ic, processor ic). In my case when it gets off (after 2 or 3 bootloop cycles) , the phone keeps consuming some mA (drains my battery even when it's off); what I don't understand is how heating the MoBo disappear that consumption. Anyway I'll wait for the videos they might help me and thousands of people that are suffering. Thanks bro.

It's really tough since the shipping cost and import-export fees add up so quickly. It's almost not cost effective. And on the LG G4 models it could be the Power IC or the Processor IC so it's not that simple.

To answer your question, We have not seen many of the V10 phones yet so it's hard to say but it sounds like since it turned off in the middle of the recovery update, this may be a software issue and not hardware. But to be honest with you, It's hard to tell without having the phone and running some diagnostics first.

If you are trying to get the phone fixed to use again, unfortunately I don't think it will happen. You have put too much heat to the processor and MMc chip and probably damaged them beyond repair. If it heats up, then it appears to have a short somewhere. You need to troubleshoot to see if you can figure out which chip is heating up. Did something happen when it stopped working? Did you get any liquid on it at any point?
