Lg G5 not turning on / Power button issue

My power button also stopped working. It would not restart the phone or read my fingerprint. I tried cleaning it, but without success. What I discovered in MY case, the battery had swollen, and where it fits inside the case, it's up against the power button. I found out If I pressed the power button extra hard, I could get the phone to restart. So, I figured the cramped space was the issue. I purchased a new battery, everything is working again.

My lg g5 battery is also swollen to the point where is difficult removing it. Could we have the same issue? Ps i ordered a new battery on amazon

In my case my battery was swollen. I could hardly take it out, but after replacing the battery with a new one everything is working. It turns out that using the phone in a hot or even warm environment causes the battery temprature to rise very much and to become swollen. This phone has to be used very carefully or not to be used for long periods of time in hot or warm place.
