@@FreshVibez77 I bought mine half a year ago and so far the only thing I hate about this phone is its battery life. I play online games a lot and the phone could only last for around 4.5 hours, which is worse than what my old LG X Power could do. LG G7 has a bigger screen and thus bigger resolution though, so I think this is explainable. Otherwise, I am pleased with almost everything, from photo quality to outer design and even its earphones. One more thing, I don't like the default music player, but I guess that doesn't matter to you lol.

I just think at the very least LG should have done something more with the camera. Ok, standard and wide angle but why not increase the sensor size? Also no 4k60fps recording or 240fps1080p recording options are a fail for me. Even the OnePlus 6 is doing something new in 480fps720p that sets itself apart from the competition. And the lack of enthusiasm, marketing and carrier presence(as in they ship demo units very late in the game/and store advertising) does not make me believe that LG wants to sell their products and that more than any other con is why I'll probably be skipping future LG(owned V10 and currently V20) phones until they can prove that they really want to try and make a better name for themselves and their brand.

I am an LG enthusiast, I have had the g4, v10, g5, and now the g6. I don't know why I stick with LG honestly. I will never go apple, and don't want to go samsung because that is what everyone else is doing. I guess my dad got the galaxy s6 and ever since it has been a competition, but really, I just want to see the underdog win. I want to see them make such a great phone that it is too obvious of a choice as a daily for every reviewer. Durable, Best Cameras, 120hz screen, unique design, stock android, huge battery, waterproof, wireless charging, etc. At this point I don't think LG should release a phone until they are able to accomplish that.

HI Mr. Mobile. I like your work a lot. I bought two G6 in December for $500 at T-Mobile. After lots of lag issues with our S6 and Note 5, I am actually happy with the G6. I like what I have read and seen so far on the G7 and there have been improvements, notably the front and rear cameras, the efficiency of the display and the sound. I will look at it late this year as I would hope for a price drop. I would rather have the wide angle shooters front and back than a telephoto, so I think the G7 brings a lot. I agree it needs to be at a lower price point than its competition in order to be a power house seller. LG should announce the price as soon as it sent out units to the reviewers. That is a big mistake IMO. Lastly the split view between all the cameras that the V20 had was a great feature. I wish LG had kept that.
@lenocman26 жыл бұрын
It's a shame LG narrowed the wide angle on the g7. I'm not a fan of the design either. I much prefer original and unique design language. We have enough conveyor belt design on the market.

As a V30 owner, I'll probably won't venture to purchase another LG for a while. My main complaint is the updates. I've been sitting on a Dec 17 security update, until a week ago. That's ridiculous. Love the phone, rear camera setup, battery life and overall experience. However, there's no excuse for a flagship device in 2018 not to be properly updated. They won't even allow beta testing in the US, smh...

@chrisbellamy71456 жыл бұрын
Very handy to know thank you! There are alot of phones that you would expect to perform alot longer in spite of their heavy skins and UI's. TBH I'm worried the G7 will lag as much as your S9 because traditionally the G phones don't hold up as well as the V phones, (this is probably due to hardware alone, since the crappy software stays the same.) You will probably have better luck with an HTC, Xperia, or Pixel phone, since the software on these is much better optimized for performance.
@chrisbellamy71456 жыл бұрын
Do you use a lot of apps? I do and I think it's ridiculous to pay top dollar in 2018 for a phone that slows down when using less than half of the apps that it takes to slow down a cheaper phone from a less popular brand. When I spend $400-$600 on a laptop, I don't get a "starter edition" which lets you only run 5 apps, no matter which brand I get, so it should be the same basic principle for android phones.

Kevin Ramos the battery 🔋 last throughout the day. With heavy usage at the end of the day, it goes down to 15/23 percent. It only lags if you have allot of incoming text messages from different people at the same time. The performance is smoother now that it just received the Orio update but never dropped performance even before the update. Is water resistant but when the port is wet the system won't let you charge your phone until is dry of course. Now with the new update, the camera is even better now thanks for AI or what LG calles it ThinkQ. It Will auto adjust the setting depending on what you are shooting at ie: night mode or food mode. This picture is one example photos.app.goo.gl/zM0pjob02fMqujz02 Anymore questions just ask.

Who gives a sh1t what people say? Who gives a sh1t to random people from nowhere? If you see the people who write in the comments then you will realise how clever you are...dont count peoples opinion...and why is S9 better? In which field? Camera? Speed? SAR value? Duration? Price? Warranty? Design? In fields that count for me LG G7 is top.

To me it's all about what you are willing to pay for a phone that you will lug around for about 2 years. As long as I pay $20.00 for an LG phone than it will always be a better choice than paying $30.00 a month for a Samsung or Apple. So yes, stop listening to people who only buy a phone for status.

S9 has the better camera, display and battery life

That wide angle feature is the main reason why LG is #1 for me. I've bounced around between four other phone companies, and though HTC is up there (or used to be lol), man that wide angle is dope.

All these giant phones with 3000 mah batteries lol
@SilvioBritto6 жыл бұрын
M Stuart agreed, it's crazy. I use a Samsung A9 2016. Same size in general 5000 of battery. I thought these days with these screens, 4000 it will be the minimum. Crazy.

Did you even watch the video? He said it has good battery life... mAh only tells half the story.
@SilvioBritto6 жыл бұрын
Jake Cho ok, I've seen it. But imagine with a 4000 or 5000 battery and the same processor/management? What I mean to say is that it's perfectly possible. The companys choose ro use this minor capacities. Business.
@Awaks6 жыл бұрын
Silvio Britto lol......so we just gonna ignore that those were like the largest devices Samsung has made?????(Even the Note 8 and C9 Pro[just by a hair....but is waaaay lighter] are smaller than it....and you think a G7 has a chance???😅😅)......the A9 Pro 2016 was huuuuuuge(mainly wide af....widest New Gen Sammy) and heavy compared to other Samsungs(also heaviest new gen Sammy).....and of course, the main compromise for that battery size was the size of the device...still the device with the best 4000MAh(for the regular) and 5000MAh(for the pro) battery tho. T'was a device for the battery life cuz Samsung optimizes battery well.... If you didn't want the massive battery, the C9 pro was a very properly placed option(albeit market exclusive)......all 2017 A series variants at a similar price, were also way better and a better deal for most......like I've said already, that was/is the main battery life champ as far as "normal" phones are concerned....is targeted at pretty specific people, which is why we probs won't see another one ever, or maybe another 1 or 2 yrs from now.
@SilvioBritto6 жыл бұрын
Awaks well, I think 4000 is totally possible in these nowadays standards. And i, for sure, will trade weight for more battery 👍

even the g4 is louder when placed on a hard surface. It's speaker is facing the back, and the back is curved, so the sound gets reflected from the table.

Thanks for the info. I recently pulled the trigger on the G7 ThinQ for me and the wife and got 2 LG G7 One's for my family. I'm certainly liking the phone for sure but you are right in that it is very understated. Either way, I'm pleasantly surprised by the battery life so far as a quick 15 minute charge up got me through the day.

Just bought 2 LG G7 phones from T-mobile... $750 each but 2 for 1 pricing... via a $750 rebate. Very pleased with band 71 and SuperBright.... We will buy additional battery backup for bicycling into remote areas. A definite competitor at around $440 per phone with all taxes included. Samsung and Apple had zero to compete with that.

Thank god for expliciting the notification LED, it was lacking on the LG G6 and you are the only one to talk about it ! I litteraly watched something like at least 50 videos on this phone in every possible langage to finally have my answer here, than Q ( ;p ) mister ! Thanks too for the battery real world lasting as well as the earpiece felling, this is what I really want in a review, how the phone really manages the real world (and not all the facking specs copy-paste everyhere) ! :)

In Canada they are marketing it pretty aggressively. LG is offering a free 43 inch UHD TV with the pre order of the LG G7 Thinq Q. Phew.. that's a mouthful.

From an iPhone 7 to the lg g7 for the moment while the i wait for the notchless iphone. This phone is worth it. Ppl underestimate it but I’m an iPhone user that wanted a bigger size screen that didn’t want a iPhone plus or iPhone with notch. This lg g7 is by far the closest and iPhone user can have simplicity. I got mine for 240$ a steal that is why I went for it. No complaints here and everything runs smoother than my iPhone 7.

Thanks Mr. Mobile. Got this phone as a replacement. Was Totally pleased. Yea has a couple small drawbacks. But overall, really pleased. Thanks for review.

Thank you for mentioning the moved ear piece in the notch. I have been following this phone closely, and you are the only one to point that change out. As someone who takes a lot of extended calls, I could adapt to that slight change, but I'm disappointed that LG would tweak/compromise the most basic use case for a phone while already compromising with the notch. There are just so many strange caveats with this phone, despite the generally solid performance and build quality.

I also miss the days when LG phones stood out all the time, in my opinion the G5 was the last standing out the crowd device (though me and most of the people hated it) and you still can't forget the G4 amazing camera, I still call it "the camera phone". But I still must say that LG's new phones are still seem to be pretty good, maybe they have less special things but it's not like they are going in the wrong directions like I think HTC is doing lately.

It's cool and all but the g6 is such a good phone that's held up well. As much as I want to upgrade, I don't see the need even with an 821 chipset that this thing runs.
@shawtmanXR6 жыл бұрын
I admire how you decided not to mention the software it's running, not only because it's pre-release, but the whole stock android argument is a bit old. Also the average Joe does not care about stock android, but battery life, point and shoot performance of the camera, screen etc. That's what people care about. Finally although, us enthusiasts look to KZbinrs, non tech folks are also trying to decide what to buy as well. Alot KZbinrs forget that sometimes. Mr. Mobile, respect every time.

Michael, the G7 is now available in the UK for just over £400, which today is $522. Do you think it is worth it at that price? Also, while I am an admirer of your videos which are always first class what do you think of the main camera's picture taking overall. Are the pictures as sharp as an iPhone / Pixel ?

I want one! When I had an LG V20 I found myself using more of it's features than the Note 7 I had to replace. But it wasn't a very sexy phone in both hardware and software. Now I'm using a Galaxy S8+ (a very sexy phone) but I miss the quad DAC, wide angle lens, and hi-fi audio recorder. I recently had a chance to play with the G7 at a T-MOBILE store and I love that Google assistant button and that you can swipe right to access your Google Feed. And I actually like the LG skin now. I may have to pick one up, when the price drops.
