The pie experience is just the same except the pill navigation button - the g8 and g7 are the same in that regard. Unless LG updates their launcher. Pie isn't all that on an LG like a Samsung

I was a one plus user before LG g7 I do have to admit OnePlus oxygen OS is great and very fluid in comparison to LG but other than that LG is better in every aspect and personally I think LCD colors are better than AMOLED they are very vibrant for my test I just don't understand why everyone nowadays thinks like LCD is way to inferior to AMOLED in reality it's all about color accuracy which is better in LCD in my opinion and one more thing I don't think Android updates are that significant as before because LG skin is packing more features than stock Android.

"LG is better in every aspect" Just how exactly? You may think that lcd are better than amoled but objectively AMOLED is indeed better than LCD. Battery life is better on the 7 pro as well. Also camera. So I don't know what aspect LG beats oneplus in besides audio.

@@andycasimir2490 I never compared OnePlus 7pro with LG G7 you did and I said and i'm saying it again I like LCD more than AMOLED it's my opinion I'm not saying that you should think the same and biggest advantage LG has is it's pricing I bought LG G7 bran new for 400$ and still I got wireless charging and IP rating certification and even after charging 750$ one plus can't even give a IP certification and there excuse is it will make phone expensive like WTH and even forget about wireless charging as well if I'm buying a flagship I want every feature possible one plus started as a flagship killer but not now it's completely In a different league🙏

@@dishantbalotiya8521 Wireless charging and ip certification are two very overrated features in my opinion. The oneplus 7 pro's 30 watt warp charging is much more practical then the slow 10 watt charging you get with most wireless chargers. Also the 7 pro is water resistant as show by numerous youtube videos they jus didn't want to pay to get it tested.

After owning both the G8 is overall better. I also find the stereo speakers to be nice it's highly dependent on the content you're watching... The G7 isn't SOOOOO far ahead and in certain cases the G8 is better. That oled panel is everything. The device is a joy to hold.

11:20 did u accidentally have portrait video mode on on the G8? It looks really soft and looks like it's trying to blur the background. Great video tho G8 might be my next phone. The G8 is part of the Android Q beta so hopefully that means LG is finally getting their crap together when it comes to updates

Good comparison video Eric, I gotta say I get significantly better battery on my LG g8 than my g7, that was my biggest gripe with the g7, also the speaker on the g7 is without a doubt louder than the g8, that's no question, but I find if you play with the EQ on the g8 your can make it sound better and clearer, still not as good as the g7 but good nonetheless. Both great devices and you can't go wrong with either one, but my pick would be the g8, just a better all around device, gaming on the g8 is so much better and it has large copper piping cooling technology witch results in less frame drops, also the OLED display is just better, the cameras improved IMO plus no hump, looks sweet, especially on this red... Battery is better through my experience, the price is right and so on, just having a better experience on my g8. ✌🏼

i wish LG didn't put insane amounts of adhesive on the rear glass and battery, not include manual mode for video and lock the bootloader. I love my V30 because i own it in and out while having all the functionality its supposed have including dual speaker, DTS and native call recording.

I'd like to point out that LG phones don't actually give you full brightness when you set them to 100%. When you're outdoors and have the brightness set to auto, they go "beyond 100%". The LG G7 gets up to 1000 nits in auto, much brighter than the G8, but it can't beat the G8's inky blacks.

Damn. I could've got the g7 for the exact same price as the pixel 3a XL and as soon as I saw it still had Android 8 on it I chose the pixel. LG you will never move ahead ever as long as you ignore updates like you. I wanted the g7 so much but couldn't stand the thought of never getting updates.

I have the LG G7 fit and this thing is a beast yet no one ever talks about it. It also doesn't he boombox feature. P.s. If it's ever asked the cases and screen protectors from the gt7 thinq does fit on to the fit but with minor or unnoticeable differences.

Hi, I've enjoyed each and every video I see you upload here. That being said, I've also been the owner of an LG G7. Sadly, that came after 2 years of an LG V20 ownership. While the audio is on par, I was *very* disappointed with the camera. Not the front one, but the back main camera. It just felt like a downgrade. Gcam didn't solve the issue, moreover it was unstable - although I tried a number of builds. I just can't recall the last time I was this disappointed by an LG phone. Even the LG G5 took better pictures, especially in low light conditions. Now, while I am tempted by the lg g8, even more now since dxomark gave it a higher score than that of any previous LG phone, I am really cautious not to make the same mistake again: being allured by a slightly better spec sheet, that eventually means cutting corners where it really matters...

If you look at the specs, LG G7 has 1/3.1" sensor. Of course LG g5 with 1/2.55" sensor takes much better pictures. Since v40, LG went back to 1/2.55" sensor with f1.5 aperture

It would be more of a fair comparison against the LG G7+ given it has the same amount of ram 6gb & 128gb of storage. LG should've kept the audio speaker from the G7 but the OLED, flush cameras on the back and the bigger batteries are a great upgrade on the G8. The G7 should've been what the G8 is minus the hand id/gestures and speaker. The pie update delay doesn't really give consumers trust in the company not even security patches are being rolling out. Like their phones but it doesn't look good for them at the moment ✌️

Agreed. If you had turned on Super Bright Mode on the G7 the display would have pumped out 1,000 nits and would have been significantly brighter than the G8.

I always love lg in terms of lcd because its great but oled,amoled or any customize oled its better because no matter how you crank up the brightness of lcd even its 1000nits the oleds with below 900nits with infinite contrast will be slightly brighter but there's alot of downside. but if lg made oled OMG it will be perfect

Did you really use the V40 to film this, as you usually do? It looks way to bright and also kind of blurry. Not as good as it usually does. I had to watch it on two devices, just to make sure. About the phones...that notch, it just ruin everything. I might consider LG when they get rid of this, but until then..It's a shame, cause I do like LG as a brand overall. I know this was negative, but that's just my opinion about these devices.🤒
