I have the 23500 btu dual inverter window air conditioner.Lovin it.Paid $650 on Amazon.Cools my entire double wide very well with a few well placed fans.Extremely quiet on low and medium fan speeds,slightly louder on high.I run mine at 73 degrees on eco mode in 95 degree Ohio weather,and it cools great.Mine replaced a working Kenmore Elite 24k btu window unit.The LG is much quieter,cools better,and I will find out shortly if it has saved on my bill.Not hearing the compressor constantly turn on and off is worth it on its own.The directions said to leave the drain plug in place,which I have done.I can hear water sloshing occasionally,which doesnt bother me.Mine runs on its own dedicated 20 amp circuit,which I had installed for the Kenmore.I am very happy with it.

Thank you! That will be my next one. QUIET is important to me, and the dual inverter keeps it very quiet in lower settings. might buy it now, or at the end of the year when prices drop, but then it's sitting here for 7 months.

Thank you for showing the graph on how much money you have saved. All of the other reviewers never do that. One problem I see is that they do not last long so you lose all the money saving in having to buy another AC after it breaks in less than 4 years. Regular AC'a lasts for at least 8 years.

What is the power consumption in watts? Also, when its running half capacity or low capacity cooling, how many btu do you think it puts out relatively, half, 3/4 ??? I suspect these units are higher efficiency in cop or btu per watt because the compressors are working at lower frictional speed, so lower loss square law, lower blowby, and also lower heat in the motor windings. THe damn ac units ive always dealt with run at a burning temperature 150c on the physical compressor which is shite for efficiency.

I heard there is a whine mode on these LG dual inverters. Do you hear a whine noise when up close? plan to get a 10,000 btu for my small bedroom.

In 5 months it paid for itself. My 5 ton ac in a double wide has ceiling vents. The most inefficient dirty system at it’s best. Then I changed out the electric stove for a propane. Maybe fill it once a year less than $200 . Electric bill was cut by about 60 percent. It’s quieter than the central unit, cleaner, and keeps the whole house comfortable in 98 degree Florida. Learning how to use energy saving mode to get my bill under $100 a month.

We have had ours a yr now. Now it keeps saying ch 02 and saying it's out of freon. U have to get a kit to recharge it. Because it has no recharge on when u get it. For a yr it worked great. Now nothing but a headache. And can not find any one that works on them

i've had this unit for about 2 years now. a few weeks ago it has this constant chirping noise. almost sounds like a cricket. happens in cool mode and fan only mode. cant for the life of me figure out what to do but the sound is driving me nuts. cant find anything online

Open the casing by removing the screws and see what could possibly be creating that sound inside. At the same time, clean the dirt and debris with a vacuum cleaner or better a shop vac with the crevice attachment. I sell used ACs and frequently clean the inside and outside of the unit. You wouldn't believe how much hardened gunk that accumulates in the coils of the condenser and evaporator coils. The ACs usually run and cool so much better. ACs can last 10 to 20 years with frequent cleaning after summer ends. Your cricket sound could be solved as simple as just looking inside and running the power to see where the sound is coming from. Sometimes rattling sounds happen with how the AC sits on the window. So minor adjustments are needed like cushioning a soft fabric or sponge on the window track to soften vibrations when the AC is running. Good Luck.

Thanks for the video. I just bought one yesterday. Wanted to ask if you have cold winters there and what do you do to insulate it over the winter? I live up in Canada and it goes down to -40c. It would be a hassle to remove it every winter!

It gets down in the single digits occasionally but I just close the drapes over it. You will probably need to insulate somehow. I agree it would be a pain to remove.

I’m actually installing it in a sliding window- not a sash window like yours, so I’m going to have to build a plywood frame for the space above the unit as well as frame for the unit itself- so I can screw everything in securely. I’ll glue foam insulation to the plywood and seal everything up good. If I can mount it so the front face is flush with the window frame, I think I’ll just install plastic over the entire window in fall. This thing is a heavy beast! Oh the joys of Canadian winters 😩

I have same one it's about 3-4 yrs old as it began acting up on ly cooling intermittently room got warm I cleaned the condenser AND EVAP on front still wasn't performing well until a storm went thru cooled down outside then it began cooling as it runs non stop should be able to easily cool a 179 sq ft living room (chart says capable of cooling 700 sqft'NOPE' ) but not so much might have to do away with this unit and find a older unit like I had at my old place it performed WAY better than this POS.
