whats your opinion on LG mini splits? Do you recommend them? was the board and motor covered under warranty?
@BillyKnoth4 жыл бұрын
Probably the worst unit to obtain parts for.

@@BillyKnoth 2020 still the case... industry should not allow companies in the country if this is what happens.....

Took me about 8 months to fix an LG multi zone split Just to get the the parts that I needed the company put them on a boat each time was about 3 to 4 weeks to get the part and they sent the wrong part like would have been easier and cheaper for the customer to replace the entire system LG is by far the worst mini split units that I have worked onnot to mention their whole time is about an hour minimum to get ahold of anybody

Hi Billy! I don’t have a certified tech in my area so I’m scratching my head on this issue with an LMU36CHV 4 zone. Brand new. Outdoor unit is sending refrigerant to one of the indoor heads even when it is turned off ( other 3 units still on). When all 4 zones are operating, it feels like the system isn’t balancing the refrigerant properly. That room just gets ice cold regardless of set point. I know the refrigerant is correct. I’ve measured it twice. I know the wiring is correct. Any ideas!? Thanks!

Sounds like the eev is stuck open... Allowing refrigerant to the unit even when it is supposed to be off.

I have an lg lmu30chv outdoor unit and I got the same 67 code for the outdoor fan. I found the red wire on the motor was burnt and broke off the motor. I put a new motor in and now the motor won’t turn on or the compressor won’t turn on now. Do you think the Pcb board has gone bad.

Yes... That would be a real good bet!

Is it normal for an lg mini split to keep starting and stopping in heat mode?
@BillyKnoth4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a charge issue....
@libbyseab3 жыл бұрын
Make sure all units in your house are all on heat or cool. That heat/cool issue can happen if you have one or more units in the opposite setting.

Ever had one of these units go out after a power outage? My indoor unit will not respond to the ON button (nothing at all - no beep, light or any attempt to turn on). I've cycled the breaker multiple times and waited with no luck. All I know is that the outdoor unit is making a clicking sound as if a relay is trying to turn something on it can't so it keeps trying again and again. I tried using the test button on the outdoor PCB but get no response. Nothing looks obviously wrong with the PCB. Fuses are good. Voltage is reaching it. Green LED is blinking. Appreciate any leads. TIA

ElementL116 may be the board in thr head unit inside
@ElementL1166 жыл бұрын
Thx. I'll have a look for something obvious on it.
@ElementL1166 жыл бұрын
Nothing obvious, although when I probe the power leads going into it, they fluctuate from around 8-9 V down to zero consistent with that clicking sound. Seems like the outdoor unit is trying to turn the indoor unit on but it's not responding? I'm thinking about ordering a new PCB for indoor unit, but wish there was a sure fire way to verify before I drop $75 on one.

Is checking the motor the same for all mini splits?
@BillyKnoth7 жыл бұрын
+Joe katynski I would assume so....but I do not really know...
