You may connect the ARC channel to get Dolby atmos, Optical fiber channel does not activate this function

You do realize that optical cable does not carry Dolby Atmos, right ? Only HDMI cable will carry higher end Dolby sound.

Yes. Optical will not do Atmos. Will need to use an HDMI cable that supports at least HDMI 2.1 and use the "eARC" or the "ARC-CEC" port on your TV.

Can I connect my rear speakers to the pre-wired 110volts connection ? If I use the LG provided wires it would see ugly in the home.

one thing.... when the soundbar conected to PC te additional speakers (spk8) works only when the sound set to stereo !! not on 5.1 or 7.1 or ATMOS (when for example u listening to music from youtube) but when u watching movie with DTS or ATMOS content u can set SOUND setings to ATMOS and its work fine.... :) (talking about HDMI connectn) but automaticly all wors when u listening music from youtube on TV APP :) (toslink aka optical connection) so its weird why spk8 not working when soud setings on PC is 5.1 or 7.1 (only stereo) when audio is PCM. bu works great with atmos conntent when setting is 5.1 or 7.1 :)

I'm thinking the same exact thing.. they do have that Sony one for the same price which is also convenient due to it having a subwoofer connected to the bar so it takes up less room.. still deciding if I want the compact Sony or this behemoth LG

I got the one on sale (well, actually it is a refurbished product) from Amazon and I am pretty satisfied with the soundbar, especially at this price point. For 5.1 Dolby Digital setup, it's great and I like it very much. For Dolby Atmos sound and especially height effect, I am not going to lie I am kind of disappointed but this was expected considering the up firing speakers on the soundbar is not something to get excited about. Overall, I needed a great sounding soundbar with surround speakers and a bit of Atmos, this satisfies me.
