It's not much of a upgrade because of the lag. The Moto e5 plus would be better if low end is what your looking for. Trust me the the phone under performs in everything. I really wanted to like it. I had to sell it.

Same, I need to switch phones, but I don't even have enough for a used iPhone. I mean, I could get a used older model from Swappa but as you know, Apple will just end up making the phone useless in 1-2 years anyway so I should just stick to Androids. My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy Avant lmao. It's 4 years old now and the phone still works it's just that it's waaay too laggy now, the apps crash all the time and it shuts down randomly even though it still has like 40% of battery. I'm on T-Mobile and the only options I can afford are the LG Stylo 4 or the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star. I like the front design of the LG, it reminds me of the iPhone with it's small bezel, but people are saying the speakers suck and that it's laggy. I've seen more favorable reviews for the Samsung phone on T-mobile's website, but now that I'm here on KZbin people are recommending the LG one over it so now I'm confused :/

@@landonmiller5844 You don't even need a music app to make it louder. All you do is go to settings click on *sound* and scroll down until you see *sound equality & effects* and hit *equalizer* and turn everything up and the sound is so much better and louder.

It truly is a beautiful phone and regarding the speaker complaint he had in the video, i think he was right when he said he mightve gotten a bad model cause mine works just fine and plays as loud as youd expect a phone speaker to play at.

As per the speaker placement of the Stylo 4 it's said to be on the bottom versus the back which I see a problem with when on speaker phone conversations and video chatting as the phone microphone is also in the bottom for hand talking. With the speaker and mic next to one another there would be echoes and feedback through the mic from the speaker.

I had an LG Stylo 2 for maybe 3 years or a little longer, but the screen got all messed up, it was the work week still, and I needed a phone for the next day. I couldn't find a phone with my carrier, so I got the LG Stylo 4, and switched from Virgin Mobile, to Straight Talk. I got the same dollar amount plan $35.00, and I'm happy with what I have. Only thing I didn't like, on this phone, you can't remove the back to get to the battery and for some reason I guess because the phone is for Straight Talk, it only has 16gb internal memory, not 32gb like the Virgin Mobile phone does. I was able to port my number over to this plan, and I am totally satisfied. Plus, I'm getting better reception with Straight Talk vs. Virgin Mobile.

That's my guess any way to why the screen got all messed up. But, I'm actually happier with the new phone and the new plan.

I just picked this phone up yesterday and I've had almost 6 hours of screen on time and I'm at 40% still. Wtf. This battery is fire. Also the screen is really nice and the build in general is really clean. The buttons are very clicky and feel good to press. I only paid 60 bucks for it so best phone I've ever bought for the price lol this is a dope budget phone for sure. Not the biggest fan of the UI but that's just me being nit picky. I have a v20 so this is my backup but I wish the UI was like the v20. Edit. So I got exactly 9 hours of screen on time! That's crazy as fuck. Great battery. 2nd edit. I've dropped this ohone twice already and the first time was on concrete and the second was in a parking lot from chest height and it took the drops really nicely. Strong phone too! I thought for sure the second time I dropped it that it cracked because it was right on the corner but it just put little chips in the metal or whatever the sides are made of. However I will say get a case because the back of the phone scratches so easily it's not even funny. If you leave change in your pocket it's scratching the back for sure lol so just be cautious with it.

I'm glad they updated this phone. I had the lg stylo plus 2 and it was great! But it got water damaged so I bought the lg stylo 3... IT'S TRASH. Idk how an update made the phone worse, but the 2 definitely had the better camera and didn't lie about my sd card being removed unexpectedly. I haven't had the 3 as long as the 2 but it lags a lot now. The battery life isn't good either imo. I'm very happy the 4 is getting good views. Had me worried, but the crap 3 is making me research more on a phone before buying. Currently comparing the lg stylo 4, nuu g3, and huawei p20 before my official purchase.

I picked this phone up after finally putting my Galaxy S5 out to pasture. Being five model generations behind meant that I clearly don't care about being on the cutting edge of technology. I was looking for something that works, felt good in the hands and had higher expansive memory capacity. This phone took care of all three. Since I don't use my phone all that much (I have a 2GB data plan), it seemed silly to drop $1k plus for a phone I would hardly be using. This phone is a perfect fit for someone looking to get a more modern phone but maybe is one of the few people left who don't live on their phone or care about having the latest and greatest.

I just got this phone for free from boost with the unlimited data talk and text plan, and 12 gigs of hotspot data. of course the data its self is unlimited, just not the hotspot data as you all know. and ive gotta say, this phone has been amazing. i love it so much and honestly, for 50 bucks i would have gotten the lg g6 from boost, but i decided to get the lg stylo haha

When I first got my stylo 4 I was disappointed by the tinny and low sound, but it was much better when I readjusted the equalizer. Also got rid of some lag by disabling all the apps I have no use for. Great phone for the money.

Good review. Just bought one as an upgrade to my Redmi 4A. All about the budget, just wanted Android 8.1, the better Bluetooth codecs, and a decent HD display. Never use speakers, my Shanling M0 DAP over Bluetooth with phones usually handles my audio. Great job, nice product shots, the lens bokeh looks dope af.

Honestly... Nobody I know uses the speaker on the phone to play music or anything other than ring tone or using speaker phone (these days people rarley talk on the phone. We mainly text). Headphones and Bluetooth speakers are what most of us use.

Original stylo had a better speaker (I still own mine, still works) and also had gorilla glass on its front screen. I haven't seen any evidence this phone has gorilla glass: I dropped it once on the sidewalk (from a standing position) and the phone landed on its screen, shattering the entire screen into a series of cracks all over the display (and on the tempered-glass screen protector I had over the display...so much for that). Very disappointing...a step backwards for the Sylo series, definitely not "getting better".

Im watching from a cracked stylo 3. Pretty amazing phone concidering it survived a botched attempt to take a photo hanging out a truck window at 65 mph from like 8 ft off the ground. It hit the road and cartwheeled but when i picked it up, still worked fine. Just cracked but my 4 is coming in the mail!

I love this phone and I still have it but it is no longer my daily driver simply because it only comes with 2GB of ram and it just couldn't handle the multitasking I do (I'm always on business) and when I use Snapchat, it would freeze for 5min. Switched to a Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra as my new daily driver but my LG Stylo 4 is my go-to for quick jot down notes and reminders.

A low budget phone, in my real world, costs $20 to $40 new at the dollar store or maybe Walgreens or Walmart. Ones I buy at HSN are $60 to $120 with a year of service at HSN, brought to you by TracFone. They function great for phone calls, texting, and reasonable amounts of web browsing, apps, etc. I charge my batteries maybe every 2 weeks, 3 weeks for the Fiesta2 with its massive battery (4,500mAh!) I prefer actual computers for typical computer and online work... This particular phone is $120 right now (Nov. 2019) on HSN with 1,500 minutes of talking, 1,500 texts, and 1,500MB of data to be used in 365 days. Each pool can be refilled as needed, together or separately, or you can just buy a new phone with a new year's worth of service for about the same price as the service alone, and transfer your existing number over to it. If you're spending $250 on the phone alone, and God only knows what on service or contract each month or year, you got robbed. No offense.

I have this phone and I really like it though there are some things I just can't explain: (1) why does the screen looping button keep turn itself off and (2) when I got this phone a month ago, I was looking at a youtube video and when I pressed the back button, the video was still playing on my home screen but I can't get it to do that anymore (sigh) I need to get more familiar with it, if you know the answer, please let me know, thanks for your wonderful review.

The music still playing is due to a misload of the video or something along those lines. Essentially what's happening is your clicking the video, it will be buffering about to begin playing, but at the same moment that it does you decide to hit the home button or back button, and it causes the sound to continue playing even if you don't have YT Red. It's hard to purposely do, but it can happen a lot on accident with a slower more laggy phone, like me and the OG Stylo...

Well, I have had mine around 3 months or so and I'm not a fan, Gboard doesn't like this phone, constantly having to delete and retype bc it didn't get it right at all. It freezes and stutters all the time, even with Nova over the top of it's lackluster lineage os. Battery life is ok, I can get thru a day easy and have 15% left by the time I get home..going for the One Plus 6T as soon as it comes out. Mind you before my Stylo 4 I had a Samsung S8+ so I went from top tier flagship to not even a mid-range device and it's very evident.

The speaker is horrible. I downloaded an app (speaker boost) and adjusted to 30% boost. It gets louder but you loose some audio quality. Everything else on the stylo 4 is great.

I like the LG stylo 4 but the only problem I have is that the stylus pen is at the bottom of phone and it's easy to lose
