Hey Andy. I just got these over the weekend. I have to say that these sound better and fit better for me compared to the Vista 2’s that I have. Jaybird is terrific, but I feel the sound is warmer, anc is slightly better, and phone calls across the board are better. The no wind reduction is really the only negative mark I have so far. Turning off noise cancellation and ambient make a big difference in this regard. I got this on sale for 127 this last weekend. Wireless charging I feel is still a niche. The slow charging I have always disliked. I agree however it should be a feature given this price range where it is usually 200. Other earbuds in this range and below it have that feature. I’m going to test these more, but you convinced me to get them. I like having another option for working out so thank you for the reviews and the channel. You give honest reviews even if a video is being sponsored by that said company.

LG seems to be really cranking out new models lately. Sounds like you're planning a comparison video with these down the road. Hopefully, you'll include the Jaybird Vista 2 in the comparison as well because I'm interested in how you think they compare in different areas. Thank you for another great review, Andy! 👍

@@AndysTechTone that would let wind in no? i have a set of fio open back ear buds and unsurprisingly, that lets the wind in.....I am unsure why opening to wind would improve? I have a set of sony wh xm5 which are best to date but i still had to tape mic's shut which improves a lot. So far these are the leaders by miles in that i can still actually hear a podcast at 40kmh, but it still a bit of strain. I did this with the jabra's but they are still terrible, it seems the case itself just amplifies wind resonance. Sans taping the jabra elite active 8 you cant even use walking on mildy windy day - so i have no idea how this is completely missed in like every review for them of which i checked a lot before buying. Even with mic's taped - useless on a bike above about 15kmh, all you can hear is hurricane. what surprises me with so, so, so many active earbud reviews (and i mean like i have checked so many) is that the reviews dont cover wind noise. And so i will see a great review for X ear bud aimed for activity, then do deeper research on forums /cycling forums - and what do you know - cyclists who try report astoundingly bad re wind noise. So it seems no reviewers for "active" focussed ear buds are covering this, which seems a miss considering there are a lot of cyclists. Have just purchased bose QC ultra and so far only just tested walking outside but i am very hopefully - the general household use the noise cancelling and sound quality is SUPREME, i love love love them, didnt think they would be this noticeably better than the sony's as most reviews have them pretty close, but oh man the sony's which i thought were overall great cant hold a candle to the bose QC ultra in just round the house use.... i have been since so excited i am actually nervous to try them in the wind for the first time on todays training ride incase wind is bad..... i am so hopeful i wont have to tape mic's on these ...... fingers crossed, let me know if you want me update :)

@@AndysTechTone alrighty bose qc ultra tried yesterday - omg so good. some wind noise still at 40 kmh + speeds, but even at 50kmh + podcast easily heard, and wind noise is about 10% of that vs Jabra 8 active at 15kmh! They are easily about 3x less than the sony wf-xm5's - really surprised the bose noise cancelling, wind noise cancelling and sound quality is so much higher than the sony's when they generally review pretty close to each other. I am no audiophile but have been trying quite a number of ear buds last few years - the sony's have been a big cut above everything else, but the bose are a big cut above the sony's in every way which yeah based on the reviews i have been surprised, but very pleasantly so. Sound quality is even way better than my $700 Fiio's.

Hi Andy, love the reviews. Just wondering have you ever seen IP rating certificates provided by the manufacturer. I have had many earbuds fail due to water/sweat ingress despite High IP rating. Id be interested to see how the testing is carried out and by who. Would love to hear your thoughts.
@AndysTechTone
@AndysTechTone Жыл бұрын
I’ve had a few manufacturers who sent me the actual certificate as the official specs were not quite clear on that but I usually just trust the spec sheet of the product. And also my own short term experience of course. Over time all buds and headphones will loose some of their sealing properties due to wear and tear especially if the buds are exposed to loads of sweat and water

How would you compare these to the Klipsch T5 II Sport regarding sound characteristic/quality? I am looking for dry/tight base with at least some punch, decent mid presence and unobtrusive treble.
@AndysTechTone
@AndysTechTone 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly it’s been at least two years since my Klipsch review and I don’t have the buds anymore so I cannot really compare the two for you. The TF8 has a rather warm and massive bass with a slight dip in the midrange so this might not be the sound you are looking for. I’m working on a sport earbuds comparison (Jabra, Beats, JBL, Sennheiser, LG) and after some extensive A/B testing I will give my opinion on the sound quality of each so you might want to watch that
