I was very skeptical that this would fix my connection problem, because I had this TV for 3+ years and hadn't had any problems before. Then suddenly my connection would drop or I just couldn't connect at all (would show no available networks). This started occurring every time I tried to stream something. But after watching this video, I took the back off the TV, and sure enough all the wires that he shows had big crimps in them. I straightened them the best I could and (knock on wood) I haven't had any issues since. Amazing hack. Thank you!

If anyone is contemplating doing this or getting a new TV, DO THIS!!! I just did about 5 minutes ago and so far so good. Longest my TV has stayed connected in months, thank you thank you thank you!!!!! My advice is to use a flat head screw driver to pry open the back of the TV (actually way harder than it seems), and also use knife or box opener to remove tape that tapes the wires together, causing them to bend.

This is crazy but THIS WORKED. I have a LG 55" tv and could not get the Wifi past the Not Connected stage. I spent a total of 5 hours on the phone with LG Lifes Good, Netflix and Spectrum and got no where. Searched the heck out of the internet only to come up with nothing. Came across this video and while I was reluctant to pull the back off the tv thinking there is no way a bent wire can actually be the problem, I did it and found the bent wire. Straightened it out and BOOM the TV found my wifi connection. I cant thank you enough (neither can my wife) This was a huge level of frustration you solved for me. Thanks SO much.

We have been wrestling with the Wifi disconnection issue for months, but now it was getting impossible to connect at all. I had to do this same this except I didn't have to straighten out the wires, I just reconnected the wifi cable into the motherboard. Unplug it then plug it back in and it worked when I started it back up, almost instantly.

You’re a god among men! If you’ve tried the unplug and re plug, and factory resetting your tv, you’ll be happy to be able to input all your passwords again after opening it up and unkinking the Wi-Fi wires to get it working again, you’re great, thank you for the tutorial 😎✌🏼

Anyways. I did not do this de-constructive fix to turn on the LG WIFI internally. ( ͡👁️ ͜ʖ ͡👁️) I chose a different fix. I just went into the tv menu. General - Location - LG services country. ♦Turned off "Set automatically". Changed it to Canada. The TV re-started. Then went back in the "LG services country" and changed it back to USA, Making sure the Set automatically was shut off. Exit. TV re-booted. Now, it didnt turn the WIFI on at that time. Next morning I turned TV on. The TV was on for 5 minutes. It shut itself off. I turned it back on. I went into the menu - network wifi. The WIFI was then on and showing all the signals around me. Be prepared to re-select your Apps when it reboots. It does not reset the TV. Just the apps menu that flashes across the bottom of your screen. It shows one it is NOT a wiring issue. Its a firmware issue.

@@MetalheadMike99 I use a network cable to the modem. After I did that, it shut off the WIFI. I think there is a default in the firmware when one does that. It seems to shut off wifi as maybe a power saving or to avoid conflicts. I just wanted to know why the wifi no longer worked. I still use the network cable. But if I want to use the WIFI ever, I know what to do.

I have a lan cable and a lot of the free channels drops out all the time. KZbin doesnt seem to do it though. Trust me, compared to a lot of the other TV brands LG is still one of the best. I have neighbors who had a samsung. That thing sucked. They took it back and got a LG. The other neighbors Samsung caught fire.My dad had a Sharp and 8 LED's burned out just barly 2 years. He gave it to me and spent the $60 on LED set and fix it. Just a upstairs spare

3 year old video, BUT IT FUCKING WORKED!!! Pulled the back off. The Wi-Fi wires were taped very tightly together with this hard blue tape. The wires were bent at the Wi-Fi plug. I used precision scissors to carefully cut the blue tape off. Once the wires were separated I smoothed them out. I put everything back together and IT FUCKING WORKED! HOLY SHIT! My tv has been like this for over 3 years. I have a LG webos tv uj6300 and i heard it was several $100 to get it repaired. I gave up on the Tv until I saw this video. It's a life saver and actually worked. The wires where it connected were still bent but the ones I fixed restored wifi. It's just ridiculous and thats that I had to take off the complete back casing. Great video and fixed my problem o a 5 yr. old 65 inch. I couldn't believe that it was so simple. Couple of hints. Do take the legs off before taking off the back. Mine refused to release until I removed the legs and then it was totally free. The modem module is located at the very bottom (center) of the tv. It's covered with a plastic cover. Take the cover off to get a good look at the crimps in the ribbon cable. I am really in awe of this quick fix. Thank you Edward for making it. It probably saved me $200 + for a service call and part which was not needed.
