Brightness takes alot of time but expect 400 or less nits. I use to do pc monitor but it tried 5 tvs for my personal use and just didn’t like it at all. That’s probably why I don’t show much anymore. I had to manually turn off, turn on, not to mention the bloatware menus that i had to turn off every time. 😡

I love this I recently got one. The only issues is you need to put on the Ai sound to get it louder without having to go in the advance settings. It should be enable by default. There is some slight app slow down. For my region Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime TV work quickly which you should expect because there is short cut so it would optimize only The Hbo Plus was running slow. I didn't see any 1080 to 4k upscaling. The 1080p show wasn't looking sharp. Overall I'm impressed they need more steaming app for example Crunchyroll.

Hey Steve I hope you're doing well.Very nice review!!! I am quite in two minds currently between two options - LG & Samsung. I can get the LG UQ75 (43") or the Samsung AU7000 (43") for the exact same price! That's probably what makes the decision even harder at this point. I assume the au7000 is similar to the tu7000? But in South Africa my only option is the au7000 in the Samsung. The main purpose of the tv is going to be for PS5 gaming & occasional Netflix (desk setup) in a moderately dark room. What would you pick between the LG uq75 & Samsung au7000?

I used to have the boxed shape LG TV, I recently went to the storage room where we got the old stuff and I thought why not plug it in. Mind, it’s over 19 years old. Booted up like nothing. 75" and 86" looks good, but LG REALLY has to improve the Feet / Base for their TVs too wobbly when you get up to the huge sizes... Maybe a Wall mount is a better idea ?

The 2022 UQ model had way better contrast and screen uniformity but seemed a bit darker. The UP7000 looked brighter but you could definitely see how it struggled more in dark scenes/dark room. The color luminance was better on last year's model, but the better contrast on the UQ gave the image superior color depth. That was really apparent with the wooden chopping block at 19:14. Great review as usual.

Steve, Do you know whether the UQ7590 will revert to the previous audio setting (e.g. optical or HDMI ARC) when a Bluetooth headset is disconnected (i.e. headset switched off)? I am looking to replace a 43UM7300 because it only/always reverts to the TV speaker. I tested this on a UQ9000 which restores the previous sound setting and briefly displays a banner reporting which source was restored. It is unclear whether restoring the previous audio source is a feature of the newer WebOS alone, or also requires a higher end model.

Hi Steve, your videos are great. I’m really new to the tv tech. I have a question regarding 4k UHD and HDR? Are these the same thing just in different names?

No, UHD means that it’s a cropped 4k signal, HDR is a picture profile but budget TVs will look dark because of low nits rating. HDR is recorded with 1000 nits brightness minimum and you need a very expensive TV to display it properly. You can google search these terms because they are more complex then a quick reply

I got the 2022 43" UQ7500 yesterday. It's an ex display model. I must say that first impressions are that it is simple to use, sound is good but picture is not so good. I much prefer my father-in-laws Samsung Crsytal TV of the same price bracket. Picture is brighter, people on the screen look like they're actually in the room with you. The Samsung clarity is far superior. I just hope I don't regret buying the LG. It's not bad, it's just that it doesn't seem that good.

Comparing it to the Hisense that was next to it at BB (who's SDR nits 296) I would say it's around 269nits. I would expect HDR to not be much more than that. Should be good enough unless being hit with direct sunlight

I am trying to decide between the LG UP8770 (82in @$1100) and the UQ7590 (86in @1300). I am concerned about the UP 8770 because a lot of reviews talked about light bleed through and vertical banding from the backlight strips. Any thoughts?

i stepped back a good 30 feet from the lg uq7590 at the store and i immediately saw the vertical banding from the backlight strips i thought i was crazy. the sony x80k right next to it didnt have that problem. But it was only noticiable on a white screen on the lg uq7590

That’s a 60Hz panel, you have to upgrade. You can get it a 1080P but the TV will bottle neck the frames
