LG V20: A Blast from the Past!

I have explained why LG V20 could be a better deal over the new mid-range smartphones. LG V20 was launched in September 2016 and was quite a decent flagship phone of its time but was underrated.
Today you could buy it for around 150-200$. But, I think the LG V20 stills provides great value than any modern budget or mid-range phone both in terms of hardware and performance.

I own this phone. Great ebay find 2+ years ago for $50. UI is boring - I use a launcher instead for home (nova launcher). I highly recommend a case, it is quite thin and fragile ( dropped and cracked my first :( ). Used otterbox is a great option.

Still running this Beast. Best phone I've ever had. Just ordered another (H918) for the jump to VoLTE on T-Mobile. Good Hi Res FLAC's + Poweramp + Sound magic E80c ear buds to kick in the high impedance Quad DAC. IR Blaster, Second screen, and most important of all... The Removable/ replaceable Battery, now pretty much extinct. And as far as behind on updates? Still running Nougat 7.0 with absolutely no issues. All that OS updates do is slowly make your device obsolete in my experience.

I would like to get another LGV20 instead of changing to another phone for TMobile since they took over Sprint. Can I do that by buying the H918 version for TMobile? I would be a very happy camper if I can. 🤞

@@janette2761 I normally would but as I am still waiting for it to show up from China, I would rather have it before I recommend. About the only place You can find them now. I Just searched LG V20 H918 on eBay. I took a chance because I really really DON'T want a different phone so it's Worth the risk to Me Lol!

I still use mines every once in a while just to play around with it at home. It's a back up phone to my secondary phone in a emergency situation. It still looks great but it has just slowed down a good amount. I may do a factory reset on. To bad LG doesn't make phones anymore because they made some unique and durable phones. Wish I had that rose gold color...

Hi Anouar, Glad to hear that... 😀 For your question: Although I haven't used Perfine 6400mah battery for LG V20 but I think it will provides the same value as two original batteries of LG V20. But, if you opt for two batteries then you will have to insert and remove your batteries everytime... So, I think you are thinking right according to your used case. However I won't buy it for my self because it is too bulky... Rest is up to you mate ☺️

I bought mine in 2017.. and im still rocking it...all month i've been looking at G8's and LG V50's.. i ordered a LG V50 from amazon.. It's hard to give up that replaceable battery. and the IR remote. And the LGv20 is a good looking phone outside of the case.. Solid feeling..v50 5g was $184 refurb on amazon....this v50 is a easy return if i dont like it.. I have the extended battery with case i bought long ago.. And amazon has a stock battery that's 4350mah.. that fits with the stock back.. it's super snug but it fits. Testing the battery on my expensive Drone Lipo charger it holds 4410mah from 0%.. I bought a stock 3200 replacement battery 2 years ago. that only held 2200mah and it was a brand new battery.. dont always buy the cheapest battery.

You have zero reason to upgrade your v20. Even a modern flagship phone won't really be any better. It will just be a fraction of a second faster opening apps. That is is.

Hi, Thanks You. 🙂 I will suggest you to pick it up from a physical store as you would be able to check everything on the spot. Remember it's quiet old now so you won't get any warranty or something. That's why it's preferable to get one from a physical shop/market. Hope that helps 🙂

True, I have 2 Korean version with better update. I just love the idea of always on second screen on top. LG is the only one has been differently uniquely significant than the rest, just like myself. I don't care about average loudness of the speaker at the bottom of the phone, I love the Hi-fi Quad DAC with Bang & Olufsen certification and I always use wired headphones. The camera is alright better than most latest midrange smartphones for me don't have any interest with photography anymore, I was DSLR freak in my 20's now in my late 30's I prefer simplicity and practicality, minimalist as well. And the front camera is better than Redmi 9 and 10 even it's just 5 megapixel. Also has military standard, after years torturing like being clumsy, dropped them, etc the phones are perfectly fine endlessly.

That's a problem with your carrier. My dual sim Korean V20 uses VoLTE just fine

@@Browningate again, you can blame your US networks for that. I've seen enough old handsets get cut off US carrier's support once it gets too old to try and sell you a new one. That's illegal in Europe without good reason (upgrading networks or replacing old frequency bands), so old phones last much longer here. I can send you a screenshot of it getting VoLTE if you like
