one thing I like about lg and their flagships is the amount of features, same with samsung,( I have and s9 for work) also you need to manually turn on the swipe to type, I have nad lg phones since the g3 and I always have the same set porceduce every year, I have a perfect image of what my lg and samsung flagships should look and do, for not being rooted because of lg new 2 year warranty promise, you know I am going to make a video on how to set up an lg g7 and v40 from the ground up and other mods or changes, see i the next video max, cheers

I enjoyed watching this. I've had my '40 for just about 2 years now, best phone I've ever had. I was saddened to learn that LG has discontinued producing phones. I'm in the process of buying batteries, and spare parts, so I can keep using my '40, and its predecessor, an LG G6, for the next several years. These two phones have everything I need. @@phrocasso5906 I just don't understand why LG didn't just placed the notch on the side and used the reminding of the screen as an actual second screen. Like with the 10 and 20. That it still shows stats and the notifications there when you are using full screen videos or games. And the ability to have shortcuts there. V20 owner and I'm really pleased with the second screen and the IR blaster and replaceable battery, which has allowed me to keep the phone for this long.

I think us V Series owners are really loyal we probably Drive the same kind of car brand loyalty when said brand has served you well is common place I just get newer version when u need a new one.. The bootloader issue is due to the carriers not allowing it. If I had to guess why, it's because of things like getting around the tether block when you haven't paid for the service. That's money that the carriers could be making off of users. T-mobile was the last carrier that let users unlock their bootloaders (I'm not sure if they still do). Hence why the unlocked international version is the only one that officially supports bootloader unlocking.

Great job! You speak my language on manual audio level adjustment on the camera part of the phone. As far as I'm concerned, your the first to talk camera phone audio! I stumbled upon this phone yesterday in my local Verizon store and the sales staff were so freaked out and totally sold on the upcoming s20 phones claiming this phone not anywhere near as good as the s20. I gave Samsung headquarters a lecture from hell and canceled my order for the s20 and ordered the v40. And out of THOUSANDS of KZbin videos, that was mentioned was the broken record of the 108 mega pixels and 100x space zoom. NOTHING anywhere about audio. Great pictures need great audio as BOSE says!

What about call quality, I had a V20 but the call quality was nowhere near as good as my older G4....very tinny call quality in comparison, is the V40 a match for a G4 for making regular calls, important in my job as I am speaking to clients, thanks

Hello. I am making a short film with my LG V30 and my Galaxy S20 and am using manual video mode for better control. I noticed on the audio control, I see GAIN, LCF AND LMT. What setting do you recommend? I notice by default, GAIN is about -7 dB and LCF is OFF and LMT is on 0dB. Is the factory setting good for short film dialogue audio recording? What I like is that the V40 photo's supports 16:9 4k displays. P20 pro for instance makes 10MP 4:3 pics which is about 3500 pixels wide and too small for 3840x2160. Heck, p20 pro doesnt even support 16:9. V40 has 12MP main and tele and 16MP wide. And a rocking f1.5 main lens. With gcam that thing beats everyone.

Had the V20. Excellent phone, would recommend it because of durability and the second screen, but the G6 is overall a better phone, however you'll have to decide on wireless charging or Quad Dac. It doesn't come with both. Cameras are on par in each other. But the G6 is slightly better for auto mode photos, although the wide angle was smaller

@@gorytedy5797 nope. The american version of the LG G6 has wireless charging and the Korean version has QuadDAC. So you would have to choose between one or the other. It does have a beautiful screen though

Can't totally block the sound. I blocked the bottom firing speaker (with case on) an noticed sound emanating from the back. It sounded alright. Then I tried it without the case. It was half as loud & thin but not horrible.

The locked boot loader really is a problem. I'm still on the V20, and I'm looking at other LG phones all the ones for T-Mo are unlockable for now. And root is a a hassle when possible, I like disabling or removing pretty much everything I don't use, including some google and social media bloatware.

How come I can not text or email a video without it downsizing the video and when I send it to the person it comes out all the store that you can't tell what it is how do I stop this cuz nobody seems to know what good is making a video with the phone if you can't send it to somebody without messing it up the only way I could send it without messing it up is through Messenger on Facebook if I text it email it it distorts it and you can't tell the video so again can someone tell me how I can send a video by text or email without it getting it distorted?????

I have both and I would say the V40. The cameras are better as well as the audio. The only thing it lacks that the V20 has is the ability to control the mic direction (increase sensitivity from behind the phone or in front of it).

I had a crappy samsung s5 neo till he died. Never used my phone a lot like others. But I needed a new one, for Whatsapp and I like playing with the camera. And playing games. I researched alot, maybe 15+ hours of reading about the new phone these days. I really liked the lgv40, But a lot of websites where shitting on it. So it was very difficult for me, I now pay 37 euro for unlimited MB/Minutes/SMS for the LG V40. Tomorrow I will get my Phone! And just like this guy, I like the freedom in settings and features. I hate a perfect one click dummy photo. I like to explore and be creative. Making video's and stuff. Also the screen for movies. I don't listen to music a lot, but watching the series with headphone is perfect I heard. Battery life maybe sucks compared to others much more expensive(!) flagships. But I came from nothing. I've bought this phone for 288 EURO now. and I think that's a very good deal. All new. I like the positive clips on KZbin about the lgv40, there is a lot of negativity, but I think LG needs better marketing, Smart adds, payed youtubers. Like samsung have. I will enjoy this phone for sure, no doubt, can't wait till tomorrow. thanks guys!

You should visit Morrow bay if you have the time. Across the bay theirs a bunch of cool outdoes stuff and a nice long sand dune stretch, its a great hike and at the end you get to look over at the rock before heading back.

The entire video is awe-inspiring but the following comment that you also made available as text is especially valuable: "You can use the camera in manual mode with auto settings but this will give you the extra ability to take photos in RAW. For those of you who know a little bit about editing RAW photos with Photoshop, you will be able to take full advantage of LG V40’s camera. It’s actually not that hard for basic photo processing, you can just use Photoshop and usually just bring up the saturation all the way along with adjustment for highlights and shadows. Simply doing this and comparing with photos in auto mode proves edited RAW photos are much better. Max do I have a defective phone? All my low lighting shots suck. Daytime shots are awesome but any low light parties (etc...) are really bad. My Galaxy S9 are super bright but it seems worse than my old V30. Does anyone have a similar problem?
