J, LG is making a more mainstream style pivot but still is being LG. Remember they pioneered ultra wide cameras (G5) and QHD (G3) killer audio (V10). Didn't move units in the way they wanted (for lots of reasons). And their prices drop like a stone after launch. So they're just going to focus on their key features - camera and audio in a bigger package with better run time. Maybe dropping a few features will allow them to retain value a bit longer. I get the compromises, and while it's not me, I still rock LG as my primary driver.

I have the G8, G8X dual, and the V60. The only reason I switched to LG is because HTC stopped making phones that I'd buy. I've had HTC Evo, Evo 3D, Evo 4g lte, M8 Harman Kardon edition, which is my favorite, 10 and U11. Camera and stereo are my desired favorites. LG has met those features and qualities that I look for. Rocking the V60 currently and I'm happy with it. Jay is right, the camera on this phone is stellar OIS is insane and the asmr mode mics pick up everything. I wish HTC was still making flagships but LG is very underrated and fills my requirements. Samsung and Apple in my opinion are overrated and very advertised based on marketing budget. I can't count the times my HTC phones outclassed both Apple and Samsung with features that those two couldn't match and it pissed me off that reviewers got paid to push their products biasly. Jay, kudos to you for the honest feedback and reviews. Keep up the great work.

Bashing LG seems to be the "cool" thing to do with most reviewers/channels. But Samsung can do no wrong... "S20 Ultra a $1400 phone has cameras that have significant issues but don't worry they'll fix it." "LG V60 has bigger bezels than Samsung, you should pass." 😂 Thanks for being unbiased J. That alone helps people make better decisions where to spend their hard earned cash. 👍

I bet that the bezzels are a must when the phone has military resistance standard for shock. Beside that I hate that the slimmer bezzels generate lots of miss touching. I have a samsung phone as a work phone that it doesen't have a curved screen, but it still gets lots of ghost touching.

They bash lg because they're stupid. On the bright side, it help make the phone get cheaper to purchase. I got LG phones mainly for it double tap feature and light weight because I'm a gamer (play store and emulation). I just got the lg g8 for 80 bucks used. The V35 for 70 bucks and V30+ for 60 bucks. I didn't know about the importance of Snapdragon until I got denied from playing The seven deadly sins, grand cross on the play store due to not meeting phone specs requirements. I still to own a super light weight (150g) lg stylos 3 plus with a Snapdragon 435. I'm still using it to type reviews and arguments while lying down with a light weight and comfortable to hold soft gel case. I'm gonna wait for the v60 price to drop. It's not worth the money as of now. The g8 and v35 gonna last me for a while. The lg stylos 3 plus on the other hand still going strong after 2 years. I got it used for 40 bucks.

Comments are all on point. Love it. Have the Note 10+, Oneplus Mclaren, as my main and backup phones and now with the V60 it wins hands down in so many areas that it's not even funny. So much I turned in the Mclaren and making the V60 as my daily driver. LG really needs to market this phone to the max.

How do you find the camera on the LG? I have the ultra and I don't like the image processing. Too heavy, oversharpened, and crushed shadows. I have had Samsung phones since the S2 and I've never liked the cameras on them.

The Samsung is a bit better when walking and taking video. But the LG has way better sound while doing the same. YMMV

That's insane battery life! This is where having a 5000mAh battery and 1080 screen shine. Plus they probably did it for the sake of using the dual screen case to make that easier on the battery.

That's because they don't promote enough. Because they deliver different configurations and different prices on different markets. Last year, I skipped g8s because it's a lame phone and the V50 is still very expensive in Europe. Over 1200 euro without second screen. The g8x was about 1000 euro without the second screen. Now it's abou 700 euro, without the second screen. LG can't compete with huawei/xiaomi in Europe/Rest of the world, at these prices.

I think the reason they put 1080 screen is to help keep price down. I only ran 1080 display on my flag ship phone. This phone does so much more then my last phone. And i payed around 1000.00. I got a better deal on this LG v60 and would not trade this phone

J!!! You were spittin... All of the Love and Respect you give LG, it's refreshing. I picked up the LG G8X, based on the videos yourself and Juan put out. Mine you, those were on the LG G8, but they're quite similar phones. But I love the device. You are 100% right, when a pair of good headphones are plugged into that phone. The sound is unreal. The cameras are strong, for pictures and recording. LG is doing well with their devices. I have no idea why many people are biased towards them. Without giving them any kind of chance. I still own the LGV20 phone. I am LOVING my LG C9 OLED 65" TV! LG has some great products! I'd be all over this V60 if it only had a removable battery. Yes, I know it has a larger capacity than my V20, and lasts a long time. Great that you can add an SD card. But I'm a heavy user and I don't want to have to upgrade to another expensive phone in a few years because the battery starts to lose its useful life. My V20 is still plenty fast enough for me and the audio is fantastic! I just hope that someday LG will bring back the user replaceable battery.

Another thing that you might review is the V60 supposedly has "Bluetooth LE" which means it should be able to pair to two devices at once. That feature alone might be a game changer. And the 32 bit audio and 24 bit record at 196K makes this studio level audio really. LG has always been spec monsters.

Man that only makes me feel better about my purchase just got mine yesterday I'm absolutely loving it. I'm also almost 75% blind but love to enjoy what vision I have by utilizing night mode and magnifier on II dual screen as well as large text. you can always tell if an operating system is clean if you're utilizing accessibility tools such a screen reader and magnifier because there's always issues if the skin is too bloated and heavy. Amazing phone. I'm a Google tester and get free phones like once a year and didn't even need to buy this phone

Great content and LG has been making great phones for years now for me especially I really started enjoying them more with the G6. This looks like a wonderful device for myself personally I won't be getting it only because it's too big for me I don't have big hands. For me the best size is between 6.1-6.2 inch display. I am currently using the OnePlus 7t which is amazing but still had to adjust and it's the biggest I think that I will ever want to go in terms of size. I knew that was going to be a good phone. I had the G8X with the dual screen and it was great. Regretting getting rid of it. I'd get this but I have my Galaxy S20, getting the Redmi K30 Pro 5G, and also being sent the Redmi Note 9S for review from the same seller I'm getting the Redmi K30 Pro from. Also want to get my hands on the Huawei P40. The G8, G8X, and the V50 5G were amazing last year! I knew this was going to be a better phone than the Galaxy S20+ and maybe even the Galaxy S20 Ultra. I got such a great deal on the standard S20, and the ones I mentioned above that I'll get tomorrow. I hate the old water drop notch design, but other than that, this is a win win win. I'd just want the dual screen case like I had on my G8X, I'm okay with no Quad-HD.

Yesssss mate. Love this. I don't know how good the LGs are but I know you know what you're talking about when you mentioned the HTC U11. I never had the U11 but I had the U12+ and to this day I still think the U12+ took the best pictures I ever took. Also videos I took indoors at nightclubs were crystal clear and had phenomenal audio, but no one ever gave it any credit simply because of the soft touch buttons which they fixed immediately in a update. Subsequently I have owned Samsung Galaxy 10, Note 10, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with Penta-Cam and Realme x20. None were better in the camera and audio department than the U12+ Respect!

As someone who always travels with good IEMs - Fiio FH7 and good headphones - Focal Elears, LG phones are great to me. Eliminates me needing to carry a portable DAP and a phone. My LG V30 has been excellent.

To make the speakers perfect: Go into the Sound menu -Sound Quality and Effects -Equalizer - +On the top right - Name your sound profile (I named mine Custom) -Slide all sliders up -Save. Now the speakers sound great at all volume levels.

My first foray into LG phones was the G3. I used that phone for a couple of months past three years. I replaced it with a LG G7 which I am still using today. I never had a problem with either phone. This looks to be a more than capable replacement for my G6. To be honest phone call quality, battery life and capture quality of the cameras are my only concerns. Every thing else is just icing on the cake for me. Did I tell you I love me some icing!!!!!!!

I got myself one a few days ago and its AMAZING. 17 hours on one charge with 6 hours screen usage with 35% still left and got mine for 700$. The display is amazing and the battery life is incredible paired with a super fast phone with a great camera all for 300$ less than other flagship phones. Highly recommend it !

This quad HD display is sharper than pretty much anything out today. The external audio is definitely lacking though. One thing I noticed on both of these devices is you can enable dtsx surround sound and LG sound engine on the v60 for external speaker use. Especially with the v60 you can hear a noticeable difference when you enable it when listening to content.

Sorry if I didn't hear it in the video but what's the refresh rate on the phone? I'd imagine if it's 60hz with a 1080p screen and a 5000mAh battery that explains the stellar battery life, but not sure I'd be willing to go back to 60hz. I've always been a fan of LG phones and think they're systemically underrated, but I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit on the cameras and even a little battery life for Samsung's screen, 120hz refresh rate, and slim form factor. That's the great part of having all this choice! I love that you give these points of view you rarely see anywhere else J

The V60 is BOMB. I use two phones, ones always Iphone and an andorid. I use Samsung and Oneplus and they're amazing... Software is my least fav of the others however...the battery life, cameras on the V60 alone make the seats hot for Apple and Samsung. The value is 10/10.

I just got this phone. I chose this phone for a couple things. Headphone jack! (Quad dac) sounds amazing I own in ear monitors and sounds amazing. Another thing I chose this phone was camera. Ad a consumer I dont care about having the best screen as you cant tell the difference. Refresh rate as well you wouldnt notice it. Dual screen was a plus. Battery life is the best ive used. Lasts me 2 days. Things I hate. A bit bulky and big, heavy and hard to use with one hand.

Honestly the LG v60 is coming in hot, in regards to contender for my next phone upgrade. If the LG V60 has active pen pressure sensitivity support, it might replace my note 8. You got me really thinking about this. God bless you and yours!

When I've subscribed to this channel the first reason was that it was one of the very few channel that I ve found that reviewed devices from a more objective perspective.Not trying to please fanboys and not trying to prize a company just because it was big.We cant agree for everthing but where there is proof there is no place for doubt.I am tired of seeing people smashing devices on the internet just to make other great and super valuable and perfect when the reality is just other so thank you for your honesty J.HTC U11 and U12 Plus were great devices but there were some flows with them witch affected the sellings.Camera wise I ve enjoyed every device from HTC since the HTC 10.The problems with HTC were others and in the end they have died from their mistakes.It is the same here with LG.Very good device with great solutions for most of the people, they just need a way to stay there, to sell, to exist on the internet.It is a great moment to creat bounds, or to recreate them, it is the same for Sony if they dont want the same fate as mighty HTC.The sellings seems to be affected this year becasue of the covid 19 so I don't expect to much improvement next year so it can be a fresh start for the ones that lost speed in the markets

I ordered mine last Monday from tmobile and received it last Wednesday and I agree it is a beast! I have been testing the 8k and 4k video and it seems like it's not working with the HDR and washes ether me or the sky behind me out a lot. It almost seems like it is recording in log mode or something. I have had the V30 for 2 1/2 years so I have used the Cinelog mode on it and it seems almost the same sometimes. The photos are great thought and the HDR seems fine when taking photos. I need to plug in some headphones yet. One reason I bought the V30 and the V60 was the headphone jack and the manual camera modes. Now I need to watch the second half of your video... LOL Update: I just used screen sharing to watch the same videos on my 4k TV and they look fine, I think they must be in the heiv compressed format and that's why they don't look good on the computer screen. I'll have to work with them in Davinci Resolve and see what I can do.

I went with the black shark 3 pro upgrading from the mate 20x i gave up on Samsung was with them from the note 2 tell the s8 plus got tired of curved screens 😬👌💯💯

I absolutely love the hardware of this device, cameras, build, display, etc. Only thing I don't like it the software, it's still great don't get me wrong, but some things are a little clunky. By all means not a deal breaker! I didn't want to get the new s20 because I was waiting for LG or OnePlus, and cuz the s20 was too expensive. LG V60 ThinQ is a win!

I'm a noob at this, is an AMOLED display better than LCD? Honestly I didn't think 1080p would look this amazing on my LG V60. My galaxy note 9 is 1440p and the V60 screen blows it out of the water.

My G8 has a port charging issue and I'm in the process of using the LG Second Year Promise...LG's awesome 2-year warranty program. They emailed me and said that they don't have any LG G8 phones in stock and offered me the V60. The G8 is so good that I had to think long and hard about it. But why not a change...and futureproof 5G?

I feel at about 75-100 the speakers start to perform quite well I have very good hearing The phone is too loud for me at 90% volume I want a dual screen in white. So mad. YOU NEED TO AT LEAST TRY THE DUAL SCREEN FOR A WEEK It's mind boggling fun You didn't devote enough time to the camera. Definitely a silent killer. The screen tends to be the deal breaker for most fadders Iphone barely compares due to reflectors V-series is boss

My last three phones have been LG. I switched to Google Fi and have been considering waiting for the new pixel 5 but damn that v60 is niiice. Love the battery, love the dual screen and the headphone jack. Decisions decisions

LG is always have a good hardware and feature, especially in camera department. But then again it comes down to the software. I've used LG before, and I'm not really into their skin. Unlike Samsung, they made improvement over their One UI. But I agree with you on other reviewers not giving LG a fair chance just because they have a couple of flops. Good video man, cheers!

What's good is that sooner rather than later, you should be able to pick your carriers version highly discounted (they don't offer an unlocked model) on Ebay in a sealed box, or opened to unlock. Still use my G8 as a secondary device, I don't care what they say about it, it was a great phone and a lot cheaper then it's competition. You're correct the naysayers will still bitch about a 4 or 5 year boot loop issue. And you're correct about One Plus, there is no rush in buying anything, it's not like your 1 year old phone is not going to work. I do have an S20 Ultra, love the phone, but got $600 for the S10+, credit for buying that phone, credit for buying a Note 10, credit for buying a washing machine, and other stuff so luckily didn't have to pay right out what near what it would have cost. Maybe I might be wrong, nice dof and color accuracy on your new Sony's.
