While the full-length Loveletter to LGBTQ+ episode is already 36-minutes long, we had a ton of additional footage to share after five months of filming that deserves to be seen, as well as a few skaters we missed on the first round. In this final LGBTQ+ Love Note there are some skater-submitted gems that gracefully encapsulate the hard-hitting universal truths, along with the creativity, friendship and raw skate talent from the LGBTQ+ community as well as some Extras, Outtakes and Omissions.
Rest easy, Jeff.
GROSSO FOREVER!
Vans is thankful to everyone who shared their story, strengthening the community of skateboarding. If you are a person in crisis or in need of a safe and judgement free place to talk, call the TrevorLifeline now at 1-866-488-7386.

This is the beauty of skateboarding, it embraces and unites people. The world needed to see and learn about it. When we skate, it doesn’t matter what your race, ideology or sexual orientation is, we just care about getting rad and having fun!

Me personally, I dont think it has ever changed. I think a large portion of skateboarders were always down with anyone that wanted to skate. I dont think skateboarding has ever pushed people out because of race, religion, sex or lgbtq+ . Most of the stories we have heard (in skateboarding) are Individuals felt like they wouldn't be accepted if they came out but that couldn't be the furthest thing from the truth.

I'll be honest some of things said here annoyed me, like "I'm sick of straight white men documenting us" what has straight white men got to do with anything? You sound like the people you hate, just judging people because of their identity, we're all individuals trying the best we can, there's good and bad in every gender, race and sex, just be decent and don't play the victim, the vast majority of skateboarders are cool don't pretend we're not.

Straight white men have the most privilege. Through this lens, most (basically all) skateboard media has been created. Lookup ‘the male gaze’ for starters.

I don’t hate straight white men. I hate straight white men who use us for the benefit of their image, marketability, or relevance. To be bothered by this is called “white fragility”... there are some great podcasts & literature on this if you’re open to exploring that.

Getting annoyed because someone criticized another person for the same traits that you received at birth could be a learning experience.

Limpwrists? He-she's? It's trendy to be tolerant of these problematic sectors in society, but any sane individual knows that's shits not right , never has never will.

They were saying for their benefit, like the way a lot of people started all of a sudden giving a fuck about black people or their injustices, people were we’re known racists all of a sudden cared. Vans has never shown any bs toward the lgbt community, so he’s obviously not talking about them

@@riv6580 he has no way of knowing that though. He has no idea whether or not the six stairs dudes are going to kook it up or not from his perspective. They didn',t but its still a very un self aware statement to make while being interviewed for a documentary about the lgbt community by a group of straight white dudes.
