They always, always, ALWAYS forget about trans men with these bills. Even when directly asked they just sidestep and refuse to think about it, because it just doesn't fit in their brains.
@The1stPurpleCat Жыл бұрын
I’ve heard my mom (who’s in several echo chambers of homophobic ideology) stay that… • “no one ever ‘identifies’ as a trans man, only trans women” (when it comes to bathroom debate) • “no one ever ‘identifies’ as a trans woman, only trans men” (when it comes to ‘indoctrinating’ children debate) Like…. lady, there are trans men and trans women. They can be young, they can be old. She has said that no one ever identifies as trans [gender], only trans [other gender], when it applies to your argument that doesn’t even make any sense. The only things you are scared of is (cis) men using the women’s bathroom, toxic masculinity (which ‘makes men become trans women’), sexism (which ‘makes girls become trans boys’), and the slicing off of g•nit•ls on children (which isn’t even happening).
@idonotresidehere.5709 Жыл бұрын
I mean it's like the guy said, they make the bathroom bills out of transmysoginy so they're not thinking about trans men in that case. But if you look at bills aimed at limiting access to gender affirming care for minors, they usually talk about trans men so they can portray us as girls who were manipulated into "gender ideology".
@idonotresidehere.5709 Жыл бұрын
@@The1stPurpleCat Exactly. When it comes to the bathroom debate, they only talk about transfems and portray them as scary perverted men (villanizing them), but with the "indoctrinating children" debate, they only talk about transmascs and portray us as brainwashed girls and women (patronizing us). It's so clearly whatever supports their transphobic patriarcal transmysogynistic ideology.

I have a very funny story about my dog. The other day my mum took him for a walk and I ended up staying home, but when my mum got back they said these 2 old ladies were very excited to meet my dog, who has a neon watermelon collar and a pink harness, chosen by me because those are his colours. And they noticed his collar and said “oh! He’s… what’s the word? Non binary!” And they were so proud of remembering the word. And I keep thinking about it. It’s weird how many people get confused about why a male dog is wearing pink. The answer is it looks amazing on him

This seems like a good place to say this, so here goes: I’m seriously questioning if I’m bi at this point. I’ve only dated one person in my life (yay, Christian influence) and I’m not currently crushing on a girl. But I do get the little stomach flutters when I see an pretty girl. But my struggle is, the attraction to girls feels different from the attraction to boys, if that makes sense. Are there any other bi people (or really anyone) who could help with that? Does it feel like that to you? I think what got me thinking was that trend a while back, where genderfluid people would show themselves in all different gender expressions, and I just thought they were so pretty. I’m also on the Ace Spec (Demisexual) so I’m going only off of smaller crushes and/or general attraction and/or the fact that I can imagine myself with people of various genders. So if anyone could help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it.
@marystratford7549 Жыл бұрын
You could definitely be experiencing different attractions to different genders, such as aesthetic vs romantic vs sexual vs sensual vs whatever. I say that if bi feels right to you, then use bi.
@eldritchabomination9726 Жыл бұрын
I'm bi (as I'm sure you can tell), and yea, sometimes attraction to different genders does feel different. For me, it feels like the difference between saying "oh" and "ooh" if that makes sense
@allisonbelter1286 Жыл бұрын
I'm bi and also ace, so I totally understand how crushes get confusing. I was oblivious for my crushes on girls for a while, and then started thinking I was bicurious until one crush hit me like a freight train and I officially concluded that I was bi. I also have had no dating experience yet, so I mostly just chill with whatever feelings come my way. Especially since I am more likely to have crushes on men than women, I have worked to remember that being bi is different for everyone and that levels of attraction can vary a lot between different people. Listen to yourself, but don't worry if it is confusing, because it's confusing for pretty much everyone and you are still valid.

@@eldritchabomination9726 Yeah, that does make some sense. The only other way I can describe it is that I love both salty and sweet foods equally, but they both taste different. Mostly because the movies def wouldn't shy away from making a character gay or trans so if she was i feel like they would make it more obvious. My theory is that her brother could be, because he literally made himself a science experiment to be different and to make himself look different, i would bet that he woukd be trans not gwen. That’s usually my go-to when someone asks why I wear one, but I don’t feel comfortable coming out to them. As far as your friend goes, that’d depend on their situation. If their parents aren’t supportive, though, I’d recommend waiting until they’re able to move out. That way, they can control how much their parents will be seeing of them. They also can’t face eviction upon adulthood strictly for their identity. Won’t have to worry about their family sending them to places that supposedly “cure” them. If they’re supportive, it never hurts to just have a sit down conversation with them. If they’re unsure of how their parents will react, they can look to other adults in their family/close family friends. Have it be someone they trust that: A) they know supports those who fall under the trans umbrella And B) they know won’t out them to their parents, be it intentionally or unintentionally. Ask them how they think their parents may react to the news.
