First of all, Dee is messy and she really should mind her business. Second, Jamal definitely jumped to conclusions, trying to dictate who Haley could be friends with before she had even made a decision about her own sexuality. It seemed as though she didn’t have the opportunity to process things before everyone jumped on her to make a choice. I enjoyed the film! It was quite lovely! I just wish that we could have productive conversations about intersectionality and the way that multiple identities alter our experiences.

I have told my daughter that whoever she brings home as 'the one' has to abide by The Rule - that they love her as much as her dad loves me, that she loves them as much as I love him. Beyond that we just want her to be as happy as we are. My daughter identifies as Pan - I just told her it gives her more scope to find her soulmate....her dad agrees. I found mine, he found his (he tells me) so why does she have to be limited to who is hers if she tells us she would be happy to be in love with anyone? Mind you, I'm biased because my beloved cousin (and my daughter's Godmother) is a lesbian. She was miserable dating men, but once she finally came out and met the love of her life she's been happy ever since. They have two beautiful, much loved and adorable kids....how is that wrong? We even made my cousin's partner our daughter's honorary Godmother too because she makes my cousin so happy. LOVED this video - why should who we choose to love be a bad thing? We all want the same - to love and be loved in return; to weather bad times and laugh at the good ones with a special person....it's just that for some that special person is the same gender, maybe transitioning, etc. I say love, be happy, and stuff everyone else!

I really love this video. I majored in sociology and I really think this speaks a lot to what we learn in soc. For example, people have key factors that go into their perceived and self identity such as race, class, sexual orientation, and gender. Sometimes fitting into one of those categories means manipulating another or other aspects of your life. For example, if you’re a Latino student going to a school that’s racially divided between Latinos and White people then you might find yourself taking on characteristics of other Latino students so that you can feel that you fit in better. Even if that means keeping yourself from being high achieving academically (if that happens to be a trend at that particular school). Even if you have the capacity to (like most probably do), you don’t want to be ostracized by your peers by taking on perceived “white” characteristics and thus purposefully choose what allows you to be the most socially accepted and not necessarily what allows you to meet long term life goals. Idk. I hope that makes since. Moral of the story, I love this video.

I'm a pansexual guy and a Christian of African American and distant native American descent (from my great great grandfather). And I just started really getting into girls, so I'm very happy about that. At first, I didn't really feel any sexual attraction to girls when I realized I was "gay", but then I realized i was "bisexual", then pansexual. But I know God still loves me regardless. And every other person in a minority.
