Correct. As shown at one point in the video, if you die you must wait 1 hour before respawning. At one point they made you pay real money to respawn quicker, but I don't see that as an option anymore.

Haha, I can vouch for that as well! I'm pretty sure that when I've seen Big Rigs crash in people's videos, you can see that the error message is something like "CarZ.exe has stopped working".

Exactly this. I really do see the great potential in this game and games like it, and I think competition is healthy for everyone. But these guys have been shady and deceptive from the beginning, on top of the fact that the game just isn't very good at the moment. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon it appears.

Terrible practices are terrible practices, "small fish" or not. Obviously, deception has gone on in the gaming industry for ages. Nobody is insisting they're the first. But that doesn't mean the anger is directed at the wrong target, since it clearly is the correct target since THEY are the ones who screwed it up, not unrelated publishers of the past.

I loved the interview with the Big Rigs guy that Gamespy did. He argued that there was no false advertising in map size since it was "up to" 100-400 square km, when the only map in the game was only like 75.

I've probably said it before but it just stands out every so often as I watch a lot of KZbin. You have a very good speaking voice. Something that was a requirement to get into TV/radio is not to be on KZbin, so you somewhat suffer through so many people with awful voices but good content creation/provision. You've got both!

Day Z had this amazing atmospheric feel to it, like you're really trying to survive, a sense of discovery etc. This on the other hand just has nothing....

The game they refer to is called Populous: The Beginning, in some of the other comments someone answered that part of his question. I just wanted to promote an awesome site, I think most people who really care about old games already know about GOG though.

Oh, don't worry I'm quite aware of that, I preordered for NS2 aswell back in 2010, funnily enough still haven't played it (mainly because I tried the game when in alpha and it was pretty much unplayable on my comp). But I agree, there is still alot of dedicated developers out there, Kickstarter is successful for a reason.

Ohmygod, watching this in 2017 and hearing him talk about micro-transactions is super weird. I mean, people will still reddit about it being in a game you've already paid for but it's kind of normal now (sadly).

There are a lot of people that share the same sentiment. Don't worry about being mean. While the developers did work hard to get this game out, they failed to make the game completely ready for release, which was their entire job. In short, the developers can't do their job, so go ahead and be mean.

The Devs of War Z are marketing the game as having more than it has, especially since it's more like Pre-Alpha stage due to the fact many big features aren't implemented yet. BF3 and Diablo 3's betas are far more stable and complete when they come out, and those Devs aren't over-marketing and false-advertising them the way Hammerpoint did with WarZ.

:D - LGR Plays, so we don't have to... could be said, but at least you give the game a try and you are totally honest about it as always. That is one rugged flashlight - usually they just break when hitting once, or the battery dies (see movies that use them as weapons)... LOL.

Actually beta means that a game is feature complete, this means there is just a lot of QA and bug fixing to do. So this state of The War Z is ALPHA!

I've actually bought my friend a copy. We both have fun. I'm not saying it's entirely great at all, but it's not unplayable. My brother, my friend, and gf all play this game. We don't play it everyday, but we enjoy it every once and a while. It's what I call a "potato chip" game. It's not great, but it's not Big Rigs: Off the Road Racing. I am honestly tired of people looking down on me for enjoying it though. That gets tiring.

Hey LGR, do you know of a game called war I.N.C for the pc? It's an old strategy game where you make money by manipulating the stock market and you can put together your own vehicles and such. My memory of it is pretty positive, but I haven't seen a thing about it for a long time so it could be total crap... If anyone seriously expected the guys who made Big Rigs to develop a halfway decent, BLATANT COPY of an already highly successful, well-supported & incredibly popular game (DayZ) then you have my condolences (Seriously what were you expecting??)
