Thanks for taking me home Barry! Not been back since 2012. When you started pulling out of that first junction I knew exactly where you were. You past lots of history as you went through the town the first river bridge you went over replaced the one that got washed away in the floods of 2009 and took the life of a local policeman who managed to stop the traffic so saving other people from going down with the bridge. As you took that last left hander onto the Cockermouth Keswick Rd you will have passed an old pub on the corner, the Curwen Arm's. The council are going to demolish it to make that corner easier for you truckers. Sad really as the pub has been there for nearly 200 years! Pleased you dodged the Jam Eaters, oh sorry they all live in Whitehaven! Still watching and following but not always got time to comment, stay lucky!

Yes I've heard that story before about the bridge washing away. A very brave police officer was that who lost his life that day

you listed some great bands i also did love the verve and stereophonic's songs Dakota, their cover of handbags and glam rags which was sang by Rod Stewart and the 90s did have some great bands Green day another great band from around that time period, Coldplay i think some of their best stuff was done in the 90s etc Radiohead is another one that have some great stuff and i know like in the 80s in America that U2 were huge you couldn't change to another radio station without hearing one of their songs
