Here, the olive pickers off-loaded their olives from their donkeys down the chute, into the olive press, where olive oil was produced. This area is now a very large bathroom, and the olive collection pit is now the shower cubicle!
The top floor has A/C and the water is heated via a solar panel. The current owners also use wood burners and electric heaters during the colder months.
The picturesque village of Tourloti is one of the nicest villages in the area and boasts a pharmacy, bakery, 3 small supermarkets and two tavernas. There is a bus stop connecting the village to Sitia, Ierapetra, Agio Nikolao, Heraklion and beyond.
