if i remember correctly, throughout the whole series, Caroline never has a bright dress, a light blouse, but never a full dress until the last episode when she is a city lady and returns for a last visit. i think she had a cream type dress but never anything as bright as that blue

@mustwinder, Arngrim was shy, but when it came to auditioning for roles, she was a good actress. According to her book, she tried out to play a lot of the roles for "Little House", including the role of Laura and Mary Ingalls. She kept getting turned down and call backs to try out for this character and that character, until finally, she was given the part of "Nellie". And the rest, as they say, was history.

I felt so bad for laura, "what if they do laugh" i know just how protective Ma was when she held her and said "they won't" i was like that with my daughter! They best not laugh! I felt bad for Willie too, they did laugh at him, he was so cute.. but yes, it was too bad he was so rotten..but Nellie's essay, Harriet so proud of her daughter's nasty essay, nels was so embarrassed.. and she kept saying 'boughtten" that was as about as a "country girl" thing as one could say, whatever nellie..
