An immense loss if he doesn’t perform again. Hahn, Vengerov, Chang, Jansen, Kavakos, Chen, Shaham, Bell, Ehnes etc all great violinists, but when I hear Li Chuanyun perform, it stirs my soul. I’m so curious to hear what what the great Perlman, who taught Li, says about his former student. I wish him all the best and hope he will take the stage at all the major concert halls all over the world.

This guy's handling of his violin is like Vincent van Gogh's rendering of his paint brush! Close your eyes and behold! This is the most dynamic play, the most colorful rendition, and the most profound interpretation of this music. Pablo should smile in his tomb and rest contented from now on! This rendition is like rolling thunders blast open the Door of ancient history to reveal its mystery, intensity and profoundness to modern ears, with passionate coloring and rich musicality, vividly depicted the life of the Romani (Zigeuner) diasporas along the ancient silk/spice roads: their hardship and suffering in enduring the long march across the harsh central Eurasian deserts, you almost cannot bear their mourning and sobbing as their caravans inched slowly across the endless barren landscape, beheld the whizzing of desert winds whipping on their thin bodies, smell the gypsy scent of long journey, your ears overpowered by the screeching of horses and hissing of camels, and personify their misery being bullied by hostile tribal cultures ........... finally, they reached to their happy moments by singing and dancing, the briskly animated csárdás dancing led the music into the climax ....... go to hell the hardship, let the bohemian spirit of adoration of life fill the stage!!! Chuanyun creatively applied many Chinese and central Asian music elements in his rendition which enriched this music. Ingenious performance! Bravo!!!
