I remembered Katsunosuke Kobari, the producer of Musashi was a former member of Ryudo-gumi.

epic! do you by chance know any other Japanese artists mixing folk with modern music?

Thanks for your comment! There aren't many groups doing this kind of mixing these days. I think the most prominent ones would be 和楽器バンド(Wagakki Band), although their sound is quite different to 六三四 (and I suspect this is because they're all virtuosos). Gyze also have elements of mixing some traditional sounds in some of their newer songs (from around the 2019 "Asian Chaos" album onwards), although they are mostly a(n amazing) speed-metal band. You're probably aware, but a lot of the members of Musashi went on to make music for the Naruto anime, and you can easily tell. 陰陽座(Onmyouza) make music predominantly with metal instruments, and some backing traditional sound effects and synthesizers and such, but there's is more subtle in that instead of the sound of the instruments, the scales that they write the music (in particular the solos) match that of traditional Japanese music. A band I know personally called "Bati-Holic" use traditional instruments, but compose in sort of a modern Rock-style. Kind of the inverse to Onmyouza I guess! There's a lot of the mixed traditional/modern music mixing in anime and games. I personally love the "Bushido Blade 2" soundtrack, which is similar to Musashi's tone. Although Non-Japanese, I find myself enjoying the sound of "The Hu" and "Tengger Cavalier" that mix modern with traditional Mongolian-style music. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the detailed recommendation! Bushido Blade 2 , omg, got nostalgia after reading it, I played that endlessly when I was young. Might download it now :) Listened to the Ost, very nice indeed, I also like soundtracks with Japanese influence, like Sekiro's Ost. Onmyouza and Bati-holic are interesting as well, need to listen more to it. I love some songs of Wagakki Band, but overall they are too pop for me, wished they would experiment more with different/heavier styles.

@@SuuuB I didn't know the collaboration of Musashi and Ryudo, very nice. I love Wagakki Band, too. They've written and performed many types of songs. How about these for you? 砂漠の子守唄 Sabaku no Komoriuta kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5-pmGpjnNZ9p8U 鏡花水月 Kyoukasuigetsu+月に叫ぶ夜 Tsuki ni sakebuyoru kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4jPfpZjpcd3mZo

@@fumin8 Apologies for the delayed reply. Yes, 和楽器バンド are pretty good too. I believe these songs are from their newer albums. Their sound has a much wider appeal than 六三四 and some other metal/rock focused bands. The earlier albums (specifically the first) had issues with mixing and far too much lead instrument sound (with no rhythm) at any given time, but they've improved substantially from that perspective.
