Nope. It’s always been a sort of love-hate relationship. They had a difficult time with their dad growing up as the dad would abuse them and beat them up a lot. Liam didn’t have it as bad as Noel and their other brother and Liam is a few years younger than Noel which is a big age gap when you’re a kid Ever since they were young. They both managed to tolerate each other and would often back each other up and have some admiration but there would often be arguments

Had the good fortune of meeting them both separately - I was warring a pretty green jacket, speak to Liam about clothes and he was cordial, polite and asking me questions, just a Hampstead pub on a Sunday early evening. He was sat with about 6 young ladies drinking champagne. I couldn't pass comment on him or Noel, who I did genuinely find arrogant and boorish. They made the big time, adulation of millions. Pressure of performing, private lives splashed on newspapers, it's our job to apprentice the songs, not pass comment on what we think of them.

@RealityCheck6T9no I wouldn't say that myself....my feeling is he's always had a major older sibling syndrome, something lots of Oasis fans have said,having experienced it themselves Although Noel has some terrific traits, and clearly lots of friends love him, because I ,like many others have had bossy critical and sometimes violent older sibs, I know it when I see it ,even in a famous person. People do seem to forget, though Liam had a phase of being an ass paining twit, he also showed great tolerance of Noel's sometimes public putdowns. There's a video here called something like Noel and Liam's funniest interviews or something, and you see Noel really mocking Liam's understanding of the word 'compromise' treating him as a dunce. Liam (quite young) says it means 'backing up' which in one interpretation is dead right, but Noel just kept it up.Small incident but they would add up over 40 plus years.
