Went in 96...and this gig on a Saturday. Liams voice was spot on so drinking the ginger teas now not the beers has helped..Great to see a new generation enjoing oasis/liams songs but So many people on the drugs that day...Surely the music alone was enough to get you in the zone without the need for that stuff..Great day but will never beat 96..No mobile phones just people living in the moment.

Nice one, James. You've done an absolute solid for Oasis supporters worldwide with this video. 🙌 Documented the entire trip like a pro. Something that wasn't really possible back in 1996. Everything apart from the tracks, however, I'm pretty certain this weekend of gigs will have special edition DVDs and probably even vinyl editions in the future. 😚 On a side note, I just took a rough calculation and money pulled in for ticket sales alone for this gig stands at north of £10m. Not too shabby.
@Jack-ii8vi2 жыл бұрын
I went on Friday as well. A terribly organised event - all the way from 'Under 16 with an adult' on every ticket, causing confusion. To no camping spots despite buying one and having to sleep in a Sports Hall - just outside of Stevenage train station until being kicked out at 5AM, and getting the first train home (shoutout if you were there as well) Although, it was the best day of my life, inside Knebworth was brilliant despite a lack of water and toileting (especially in the first pen, where if you left there's a chance you couldn't get back in, so peeing in a bottle was essential). Falling asleep in a McDonalds in Stevenage, getting kicked out by the police along with about 50 others, doing all sorts of stuff and listening to Liam for the first time. I feel sorry for anyone who missed out - I don't think life will get any better than that day.

He’s actually better now than he was when he was younger for two reasons; his voice is more mature and controlled and he actually was “present” and seemed very grateful to be there. A major difference from the Liam of old. I was in the music industry for many years (on the legal end) and I’ve known many musicians that have tried to make comebacks. This is one of the very few where I dare say that he is better now. Thanks for the video. 😊👊🏽

Great video as always sir. Few things from that day from my perspective: 1) Amyl and the Sniffers and Kasabian were EXCELLENT. Serge has got a lot of underserved flack of late. Hopefully that's all been put to bed now 2) We managed to get in beyond the last barrier for every set (think they were only meant to be reserved for people with VIP wristbands, so we got lucky! Although they were letting anyone in :P) 3) Still can't believe that we got Roll It Over in Liam's set. Massively underrated song 4) Stand By Me was the highlight of the set for me. Seen Liam/Noel 5 times, and they've never played anything from BHN, much to my chagrin. My favourite Oasis album. So I was over the moon 6) Also fulfilled a promise to my good mate for several years that we would see either Liam or Noel together 7) Seeing Johnny Squire live was a very nice surprise 8) Getting out of the car park was a NIGHTMARE. A totally mismanaged disaster. Took us 3 hours to get out of Green. Supposedly there were some people picking up people ON the A1, forcing the police to close it. But the stewards didn't help, not directing traffic down the hill, not informing anyone of what was going on, leaving everyone to their own devices. The WORST experience I've ever had getting out of a gig. Didn't dampen the evening though!

We were in Green car park, stayed with the car with some drinks until we were dry. We got diverted away from where the Green entrance should have been and discovered a pub, The Lytton Arms, and managed to beat the crowds to get the first pints just as the pub opened at 12. Chilled and mingled with the fellow fans there for a while then got in for Pastel who absolutely smashed it (seeing them again in London with Afflecks Palace and Vega Rally at the end of July). Overall I thought it was an amazing gig and Liam’s vocal performance carried the entire show. But a few downsides: the music could have been turned up louder and it should have been easier to get a beer. The queues were mega so the audience was more sedate than it might have been. I saw him in the Sheffield arena in 2019 and it was really easy to get beers…so everyone was smashed and it was more wild…
