Therefore, you have not always been superior. Also, the will of the force always had a plan for the future. You were constantly in danger of being discovered especially towards the end of the Clone War. Had anything happened slightly differently, the Jedi would have destroyed you easily. Still, the Sith were destroyed. How? It was always the will of the force. Anakin was the chosen one to bring balance and when he turned away from the Sith and back to the light, he destroyed you. Even 30 years later, when somehow you returned, you were still destroyed by 2 lightsabers. Repeatedly, the Sith have been destroyed and had the Jedi been expecting a return of the Sith, my fine apprentice Obi-Wan and I would have both survived while destroying your tool with a double-bladed lightsaber.

The origin of Vader's crystal is explained in the comics. He killed a jedi shortly after Revenge of the Sith and made the crystal bleed, turning it red. Palpatine even says to Vader, "The saber of a Sith is not given. It is taken."
