@@ArmArmAdv I thought Zimmer was room?
@ArmArmAdv7 ай бұрын
@be6715 Zimmer is indeed room. But it's etymologically cognate with English timber. They are both derived from Proto-Germanic timra, meaning building or timber. The English room is cognate with the German Raum. Although in German, it has the connotation of space. In English too, we say roomy meaning spacious. Direct translation: Zimmer (DE) = Room (EN) Etymological cognates: Zimmer (DE) = Timber (En) Direct translation: Room (EN) = Zimmer (DE) Direct translation: Timber (EN) = Holz (DE) Etymological cognates: Holz (DE) = Holt (EN, historically meaning wood or timber, now extinct, except in some literary works) Etymological cognates: Room (EN) = Raum (DE) Direct translation: Raum (DE) = Space (EN)

Im from Poland and watching this video made me miss the five months I spent in Germany during my gap year. :) I remember that the charming senior woman who owned the apartment I rented sometimes came to bake homemade cakes with me and integrate. I tried to speak to her in German, which I learned in high school, but she was mercilessly fast in speaking :D I also remember going to the local bakery for the first time in the morning and reciting all the German names of the baked goods I wanted to buy, but I wondered aloud in Polish language, if I pronounce it correctly. Behind the counter stood a woman from Poland, who served me in German until the end, and only later admitted that she had been living here for 15 years. She appreciated my efforts. :D

Das-ist-genial!!! Ich lach mich schlapp! 🤣🤣😂😂😂 Wirklich, du solltest öfter längere Sachen machen neben den Shorts! Hier stimmt einfach alles, Timing, Atmosphäre, Witz! Einfach super..meinetwegen kannst du sofort einen Kinofilm drehen! By the way, ich hoffe natürlich auch auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen mit der attraktiven jungen Frau, dem Baby und unserem Lieblingsrentner!!
@whisped81458 ай бұрын
