One little thing Liam, Megas spawn on the north-east of Fort Knell right by the launcher truck, not the south-east, you missed one in the video! Also, if you see that upgrading to metal is too expensive, you live, similar to me, right next to a lake that has clay. You could harvest it and with some charcoal plus a campfire, upgrade to brick. Though farming charcoal can get tedious.

if you want to do horde beacons on arid you should use the target pistol upgraded with a weapon mod kit which gives it a suppressor and it uses target ammo while being automatic and using target ammo which you can get drums for by trading in floppy disks which you can easily get from b2 key room
