I’ve been using my SP404 MK2 this way. Definitely helps with the *commitment* part of making a track. I also hate doing automation in daws it’s not fun..
@LiamKillen Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d rather perform in my automation and then maybe use the DAW to finalize
@el_dani8 ай бұрын
Big (old school) studios also put the audio stems through their big mixing consoles (also summing mixing if enough channels) - only problem with this method is the missing automation, you fix your volume in this step
@LiamKillen8 ай бұрын
Exactly - i'll be starting to do this with my Big Six ! :-)

Amazing. This is exactly what I’ve been wondering is possible recently and then you just did it. Is there any reason you’re using Logic over Ableton now?
@LiamKillen Жыл бұрын
I’m actually primarily a logic user and still use it for composing / producing. Ableton is more for performing for me

I’ve been so intrigued by the model 1.4 so the d sub connector so if it’s stereo does that give you 4 stereo inputs from your daw as the line inputs have only one input on the back for each track can you sum 4 stereo channels and is the d sub soncard expensive as I have an Apollo twin x which has only 2 inputs
@LiamKillen Жыл бұрын
Yeah you’re right about all this! Sound cards that support D SUB are usually more on the expensive side though, yes!
@el_dani8 ай бұрын
You can buy a Dsub connector cable with TRS-jacks on the other end. The DSUB doesn‘t give the mixer Model 1 more inputs, just on a different cable type type (and balanced)

Smart. Would love to see this with a tube preamp and a shoit load of channels (billy corrigan studio solos) with origin synth being digital to see how fat you could get a signal..

Everything you run through this thing sounds ridiculously good.

Any suggestions on Model 1.4 alternatives? (not fully analog, but with the tactile/FX/mixing enjoyment, nonetheless)
@LiamKillen Жыл бұрын
Pioneer has some great options for that :-)

Maybe some extra acoustic treatment in your room would help. Bouncing a bit. (voice) Ta.

People in the comments will talk mad trash about an amazing $2,000 teenage engineering synth, but not batt an eye at a $2,000 friggin DJ mixer. How is this thing a good value proposition but OP-1 Field, isn't?
@LiamKillen Жыл бұрын
I think they’re both valuable but also both expensive, yes- lol
@gusmcbean9474 Жыл бұрын
If you’ve ever gone shopping for DJ mixers the model 1.4 is really not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. What it’s doing at its price point is actually very good value for money. Pioneer stuff (eqs, filters etc) are all digital. Model 1.4 has insanely good routing options too. It’s basically the only mixer that works in my setup hey.

because OP-1 looks like a toy? lol but its not. inspiring little piece of kit
