Watching this brought back some magical memories. Unlike today where we have the internet and if you missed the debut, you could watch it at your leisure, we had to stay up on December 2,1983 to watch it on MTV. It was the most magic 14 minutes in music history. Since then artist have tried to copy, duplicate what was done back then. Even Beyonce with her Lemonade. But nothing compares to those times. And then Prince came with Purple Rain ... those were the greatest times in music history. MJ, Prince, Madonna, George Michaels, Cyndi Lauper and Ill Tumble For Ya - Boy George! This video is such a great walk down Memory lane. I remember the year 1984 anticipating the viewing of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. My Mom did not have cable at the time, and it was also awesome to find out that Michael Jackson broke the barriers of the genre of videos shown on MTV at that time. He was the First African American artist, with a chart topping album full of hit songs,that premiered on the network channel. I remember waiting to view his videos on a show called " Friday Night Videos" I stayed up very late that night full of excitement fighting sleep. Lol!!!!! Oh the good days, that I will forever cherish.
