BASANTA RAAS
Basanta Raas, a unique in a sense - combination of happily played with colours (Abir Khel) and ultimate surender of Bhagavan Shri Krishna to Shrimati Radha. During the reign of King Ghagyachandra i.e. 18th century AD. Basanta Raas was innovated. This particular Raas is based on Brahma-Vaivrata Purana. and Gita Govinda of Jayadeva Kavi. Here Shri Krishna on Chaitra purnima (march-april) call out the Gopies with the melodious sound of his flute and played Basanta Raas Lila at a selected place. An importain part of Basanta Raas is Shrimati Radha’s anger to Krishna becouse of his association with other gopies in her absance. Shri Krishna pleaded to Radha for her forgiveness becouse of his act without any success. and finally Bhagavan Krishna requested to Radha to Put her feet on his head to ease out her anger and finally there is union milsn Sambhoga of Shringar ras.
