One of the many, many things that amaze me about Lianna is her per-fect pronunciation of every word she sings. Fun fact: She actually has to keep her eyes closed as much as she does, as not to unintentionally mesmerize people around her with her smile, let alone her singing. Currently, both the UN and NATO recognizes the action, of her making direct eye contact, while smiling a WMD, weapon of mass distraction. Stating, that be she allowed to, on camera maintain eye contact while smiling, AND singing, for more than a couple of seconds, people watching said clip, will be unable to get any work done for at least an hour, locked into a semi vegetative state, with the risk of dehydration, as they watch her again, and again unless someone forcefully removes the victim from the source.

I feel this way about almost all the Tiny Desk concerts. I fall in love with the raw artist then go listen to the album and am disappointed in the over-production of almost every one of them. The latest one was Andrew Bird. His performance is AWESOME but in his album his vocals get washed out by the music too easily. I think the pendulum has swung to far in favor of electronic manipulation so it is now on the back-swing to raw live music. I can only hope :-D

Tiny Desk is where sub-par vocalists can't hide. Too intimate, too raw, too in your face. It is however just another venue for someone Lianne. Few vocalists can hit a note and be 100% in tune the second the note is released and maintain the pitch throughout, with or without the help of a vibrato. Most vocalists who have this kind of control and accuracy often developed the ability from playing and mastering an instrument in addition to their voice. Leanne is clearly no exception. She is truly Exceptional!
