Thanks Camilla! Yes, it was a special show. Nice to capture some spoken word as well. A natural segue for him, but nerve wracking.

its been a long time but ive always known since i found these guys, lias is my favorite composer/writer since cobain. its about damn time someone has awareness but not to the degree of self loathing/appreciation. its a wound that never heals. to translate that into lyrics that highlight my own thoughts as well as offer a relief, beyond hard to do. i recently showed an older friend of mine their moonbathing show and they got it, they said to me "this is exactly where folk music needed to go but nobody ever found it" , all i could do is laugh because its how i felt. a mix of ritual and cult and sassiness. this is where the average good persons conscious settles. nudged between the aggressive western capitalized rich and the begrudging laborers. earthy. tactifully composed, funny. who knew being normal was the new weird.

Thanks for the epic comment. Great to get at the heart of what inspires us and finds us where we are. It must feel a precarious existence being Lias Saoudi moving forward constantly He manages repeatedly to pull it off. He has love to sustain him these days, so long as Anna doesn’t take unkindly to his confessions.

Thank you so much Lou for uploading. I hope to visit the Windmill sometime. What a great performance.

🙏 it’s a pilgrimage that many do make. Some never leave. Like me for instance. Always a special show, Lias on his home stage.

There's something about Lias' monologues that remind of John Cale's monologues in some of VU stuff. Tantalising stuff.

Possibly, partly the hard to pin down accent 🙂 Compelling.

That speech at the start is a work of art

Yes. That’s the first time I’ve heard that one. I’ve been wanting to share some of his spoken word for a while now. Did you catch the hyper caffeinated circumcision piece at the end?

It's this superb reflective Lias that is so rare for musicians and great. Who cares if you write songs and then do something else?
