when I was a young teenager my piano teacher took me to a Liberace concert in Winnipeg at the Centennial Concert Hall. Liberace was the consummate performer and his wardrobe was flashy and luxurious. it was a great show and it encouraged me to continue playing piano which I still do almost fifty years later. thanks Lee!

Hello, wow you were so lucky. I regret not learning an instrument. I have always wanted to learn the piano. Lately I have been thinking, could I buy an electronic recorder and learn using that first? I was thinking, could I use my phone for lessons. I love most genres of music and that includes classical music. Just a short note: the ending, when the candles on the candelabra were blown out, I cried. This is just a showing of how much Liberace has come to mean to me in the short time since I "discovered" him. I very much enjoyed this bio of Liberace! It was put together extremely well, photography and context. . Comprehensive in its presentation and informative. We were given a look into his beautiful homes and museum. I was able to watch his performances on tv and remember them well. What a legacy he left behind !!!

They had to convict the autopsy to prove that Liberace was gay and that he died of AIDS because he was a pathological liar who denied that he was gay all his life. What a wonderful sense of fun he had. Never afraid to be outrageous, he brought so much light, colour, happiness and generosity to a drab, humourless world. The only two things I still HATE with utter ferocity is that he ruined his Rolls-Royce cars, and his furs were not faux.

I have a friend (real, not FB) who is one of the world's greatest composers/classical pianists. One day I asked him about Liberace's talent and what his fellow classical pianists thought of him, and he said, "Liberace is to classical pianists what Cher is to a trained opera singer." Perfect line!

It was called "Liberace". If you have it it would be absolutely amazing if you could upload it. I saw a scene on youtube and it was phenomenal. I am sure quality entertainers exist, and only need a stage to get a start to build reputation. Need to bypass the establishment that sold the USA out to purposely present negativity and trash. They don’t deserve your money. People need to insist on entertainment that is SOOTHING to the soul to your nerves bring a smile to you, can forget problems for a while. I heard many times that certain countries new that they couldn’t take USA down in a war; so decided to take USA down from within. So took over the entertainment industry and all that has an influence on people’s thinking, and nothing has been missed to do that. The citizens can turn that around, by not going to negativity stuff, and to NOT allow self to be manipulated without investigating; and take the money out of negativity stuff by not supporting it. However be careful not to react, not to be bias. Know many things are not what they appear to be or as presented. If don’t know, don’t feel in blacks till you know you know. If it a long time friend who has been straight with you one day tells you an off the wall story, ask if they are you serious, is statement true, if they say YES, ask them any necessary clarifying questions and support them, at very least emotionally. Back to entertainment. their is more money in entertainment that is SOOTHING to the soul, to your nerves then in the trash. Thus why it strongly appears that the entertainment establishment was paid off or intimidated to favor the negative stuff that the entertainment industry has presented. I would say this starting in the 50s and when Senator McCarthy (if spelled right) was trying talking about it and people didn’t believe. That negativity slowly got into polluting everything, everything across USA without exception. The words POLLUTING and POLITICS are related. So now it is time for people to support quality talent entertainers.(includes politicians clergy CEOs among others too) that I am sure exist; and only need a theater, a stage to get a start and get a reputation, and bypass the sick establishment presenters of: negativity trash division decay, to: lack integrity, lack desire to seek win win solution for each, involved.

He hid his sexuality because that's what people did back then. You could end up institutionalized in a mental hospital. Things are so different now it's hard for younger people to believe. He was a flamboyant star who influenced many other performers over the years like Elvis (think of his later life), Little Richard, Elton John, David Bowie, Michael Jackson etc. No one ever gives him credit for this. I think in his later years his sexuality was a wink and nod and people were aware of his protegees. I hate the intrusion by this nasty coroner after his death, so unfortunate.
