Governments at all levels in Canada , award themselves salary increases, pensions, housing allowances,obscene expense accounts, and when they have fleeced the taxpayer , claim that they were given the mandate in the election process. Almost no career politician would ever get their pension if they did that. Their work is significantly different than the average job. They could only have the chance to serve for 4 years. I think they should change it from 6-10 and they should also adjust the amount, it’s entirely too high. Changing it to 10 would remove the pension of many of the Liberals who did a terrible job of serving Canada.

As a union worker, I was invited to a meeting on job description and pay raises based on jobs. I was very surprised to see an NDP member walk on stage to start talking. I stood up and stated that I wasn't there for a political rally and if that was the case I was leaving. Three rows stood up and started to leave with me.
