It’s the first victory for the Conservatives in Toronto proper since 2011.

More like wannabee communist or something, purposely working for other countries against our best interest and making life unaffordable because they steal taxpayer money and have to tax us to death. The wokeness, the laws and policies to police every part of our lives, etc. No one is sad he lost this riding and no one will be feel bad when he is voted out either. The entire liberal party is corrupt and even if they get a new leader- it won't change what the party has become. Pierre 2025!

TL; DR why bother? (see more is long) There are three files the Conservatives can handle as layups by simply not being in hock to the same spread of special interests as Liberals. -1 - Housing can be addressed by focusing mass development out west. Standard of living only necessarily goes down when people are herded, due to the chronic have not status of down east and Quebec - so you put mass migrants there, you get more of the same cultures that are the chronic economic drag on everything - and the fact that the Liberals would be cutting their own throats if they actually supported out west in a meaningful way, into a constricted band of southern Ontario. Everywhere else has a hard geographical obstacle to development. Remoteness. Topography. Soil. (Rock, really.) Just by being the Conservatives, that one can be addressed without starting a fight with either the international bond market or the Toronto area antidevelopment lobby. - 2- The teachers' unions and the alphabet kiddy slitters having their political cover evaporate means all kinds of measures are possible. My view, with shields down, for Ontario, it's time to ram through charter schools and a voucher system. The teachers will chimp out, but it won't matter. Then just abandon the entire idea of attempting to force institutional reform on the public schools, and let the kiddy slitters destroy the entire system, as parents shift their children over to charters or take their funding and home school them. Same deal as Florida has for parents. - 3 - The third layup - where the popular support is so widespread and so deep they can campaign on it - is to restructure the corporate subsidies represented by the carbon tax into something that stomps on private sector employees and their families just a little bit less. You can't ever get the corporations to give up their presence in the federal regulatory apparatus, and the main achievement of the NDP is to make the kinds of reforms by which the corporate presence in the regulatory apparatus would be achieved impossible to discuss - they're just another hand holding down the little guy so the corporations can fuck him in the ass - but jacking up the price of energy is something that can be brought to an end. As far as the stretch goals go, and the rest of it is all stretch goals, that is where we will see what HQ is thinking. As far as I am concerned, they ought to work deliberately to punish all bases of Liberal support which are not just people who put their hands out for fiscal policy when it was going around, or who are the corporate equivalent who donate equally both ways - cutting off anglophones in Quebec, for instance, makes a lot of sense - as well as deliberately attacking the viability of every last one of these bases of support. Play it like an RTS, where you go around the map after you get a win, and you hunt down the computer's town halls in the fog of war, and prevent it from getting back on its feet to send another wave at you. Mass migration, corporate welfare, and diversity hiring are all too far as issues go and will end up causing a reaction they can't handle. but given the Liberals listed the Gavin MacInnes fight club as terrorists, for instance, I don't see why the Conservatives shouldn't list the Sierra Club and MakeWay and all kinds of organizations which enter into the civic sphere in bad faith to attack our ability to hold up real per capita GDP paint a target on their activists backs as far as every civic forfeiture happy police department in America goes

This byelection should have sent a very clear message to the Liberals and the NDP. Actions (or in this case incompetence and so many bad decisions) have consequences. And they felt those consequences last night. This is just the edge of the giant sword that is about to decimate both parties. If the Liberals cannot protect and hold a "safe seat" that they have held for over 30 years, what do they think is going to happen in the suburban and rural ridings? Can you say, "massive Conservative Majority"?
